Sounds like you're pretty active. Do you intake enough water through your day? You should increase your water intake on days that you are more active. If not, this could lead to bloating, which may be why you feel heavier in the mid-section. :)

I slice of toast and peanut butter usually does the trick for me. 165 calories or less.

I'm in!

I eat in the morning if I'm hungry, and I don't mean hungry to the point that my stomach is growling and I'm feeling sickly. I'm a firm believer in listening to my body and learning to recognize when I'm ACTUALLY hungry. When I follow this and consciously pay attention, I'm most successful (lost 14 pounds in 1 month eating…

Hey Chloe, I also have Behcets and have been fighting it for 14 years. I can relate to the weight gain and lack of exercise that unfortunately comes with this disease. Keep working at it. It'll eventually come together for you. xox

Atta girl! I can't wait to be overweight!

Cottage cheese and strawberries. So damn simple, and so damn delicious.

Mmmmm beer. Mmmm.

I'm from Edmonton. Warning: I rant and swear. Ha. :)

I suppose I should actually start going more often if you're going to be effective at that....

The Pourhouse on Whyte has great options that are so good without the excessive calories. They don't even serve fries or have a fryer!

Me too!

I LIKE the way I feel on it, but I gain weight like crazy on it!
-
How much did you pay for yours?
-
Are any of you from Canada? Where did you buy your Polar?
-
Definitely! Especially on prednisone. It's good to watch your caloric intake.

If it's uncomfortable to eat that much, don't eat that much. You should eat what you're comfortable intaking. Stick with 1700 if that's what you feel good at.

You have been lucky that you don't feel hungry while on it because the hunger is almost unmanagable for me. And no, that's not an excuse. I've been on and off of it for 12 years. I definitely know the difference. Sometimes, regardless of how much you "watch what you eat", women still gain. Their bodies don't respond well…

I'm down a whopping 4.4 pounds in the past two weeks. haha. I'm also planning a trip for later this year and would love to feel confident in a bathing suit!

I'm a beer girl too, which does me no favors, and I can't do the diet sodas. I'd rather skip drinking then drunk that! Haha.

What does it matter? Every thread is repeated. If people want to reply, what's the issue? Just don't read them?

My personal recommendation is for EVERYONE to see a dietitian / nutritionist if they're looking to change their diet. So many people do it wrong and can end up with negative outcomes/effects. All of us here have clearly taken the time to read and likely many of us know quite a bit, but a dietitian / nutritionist is TRAINED…

I agree! I'm considered "low carb" and I'm still above 100g / day. Increase your protein too! Your body needs it and people don't get enough.
-
Low-carb IS healthy if it's not an extreme minimal carb amount or no carbs at all. Even dietitians will recommend a low-carb, high-protein diet for weight loss.
-
It's not anti-carb; it's low carb. A lot of healthy eating alternatives recommend high protein, low carb meals for weightloss. I believe the reason that people experience symptoms isn't because they're reducing their carbs from a normal amount to a lower amount, I believe it's because the average person over-eats when it…

Honestly, the biggest difference I notice is in your arms! They look FANTASTIC!

I can't take credit, a friend gave me the idea. But it definitely keeps me motivated. I've always had trouble staying on track, but I find myself SO BLOODY EXCITED to move those damn little stones that I stay on tract. Not forgetting to mention that every time I walk into the kitchen it's staring me straight in the face. :)
-
Haha. That was my first thought too. But those jars are holding 75 stones with plenty of room! Thankfully the dollar store sells them in big bags. :S

Look in any scrapbooking section. That's where I found mine!

Sometimes your diet and exercise routine could use a shake-up. Increase your calories by 100-200 per day, eat lots of protein in the morning, and when you're at the gym do your routine backwards. Sounds silly, but it works!
