I purchased a fitbit to calculate my activity during a shift at the hospital. It's been an eye opener and it's helped me to know how many calories I've burned so I'd know how much to eat that day.

I'm 5' and I had the same problem. My legs are finally looking slimmer and I'm loving it (I wore shorts in public today for the first time in years!). For my legs, I do pilates workouts geared toward the legs. I started wearing ankle weights while performing the exercises and it sped up results!

My husband is also naturally stick skinny. It was definitely frustrating at first because he would try to give me advice but I felt the same way as you: how can I take advice from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about? So I set him straight. I told him: When I'm working out and eating healthy, tell me I'm…

I achieved my original goal of losing 10lbs and have moved onto a second goal of another 10lbs. So stick with it! And I should add that a loss of 10lbs DOES show on your body (I was skeptical of this)! I'm 5ft, started out at 147lbs in February and am now 135lbs. I eat 1300-1500cals per day and try to workout 20-30mins for…

Hello fellow night-shifters! I avoided the pizza someone bought for us... I love my willpower, but my grumbling stomach isn't happy with me right now.

Most health care professionals have to go through bariatric sensitivity training - it's mandatory at my hospital. I found that list interesting (I won't say "funny" even though I laughed because that would insensitive of me - lol)!

You look great! You're SW, CW, and GW are a lot like mine... I love seeing success stories of people with similar stats - it's great motivation!

My husband does the grocery shopping because I can't be trusted in there! =) That's how I fight the urge!

I'm glad you posted this because I felt like the only one that wasn't doing a crazy diet! I too have had success from just making simple lifestyle changes.

I've logged in just over 30 days and I've lost 7 pounds. 2" around my hips and 1.5" around my waist.

Sip lots of hot tea! Not only is it great for when you're sick, but it'll help keep your hands busy so you're not snack on something else and all the water will fill you up! Good luck - hope you feel better!

Walk fast to get your heart rate going!

Start small - like really small! Start with 10 minutes of cardio, even 5 - whatever it takes to get you up.

I remind myself of my goal!!!

Lots of tea (because it has more taste than water) and I'm currently experimenting with low calorie snacks that fit into my caloric budget. I adjust how much I eat during the day because I know I'm going to crave an evening snack! I found that if I just plan for an evening snack, it won't break the "caloric" bank!

My rules: 1. In regards to counting calories, my "day" starts at midnight and ends at the following midnight - whether or not I'm working a night shift. 2. In those 24 hours I can eat 1500 calories (that's my goal, at least). 3. I eat three meals a day with snacks in between, and I sleep around those meal times. Before…
