You look amazing! I just love the idea of altering a beloved garment to fit the new beautiful you. Truly inspirational!

I actually keep a bag of raw pecans on my counter and put a few in my cereal or yogurt. I'm sure the holiday variety with sugar and spices are heavenly! I wouldnt have resisted either:)

I just received a box of fresh Florida oranges and grapefruits for Christmas and suddenly I'm way over my vit c requirement. Yes it's sugar, but the good kind so I'm ok with that. Grocery store citrus is always a crap shoot where I shop, so a box of fresh fruit is a great gift!

I was the same way...all cardio and some yoga. I recently started a strength program that a trainer at my gym put together for me at minimal expense. It is a combination of weights, machines, stability ball etc. It takes about 40 minutes to get through. I have never enjoyed strength training in the past, but the results I…

Gauntlet heaved. I'm in. This is my first challenge here. Where do we post our workout results...publicly or personally?

Huge difference! Great work. What happens to Tats when you shrink?:)

Actually...no I n ever feel that way. If I had to push myself to eat 1200 cals, I don't think I would be on this website.

I'm set at 1200 and public. I eat my 400-500 exercise cals and still go over sometimes. Feel free to look.

This happened to me the other day! I worked night shift and ate a ton, but I was really proud of myself for putting a stop to the madness that same day by eating a healthy dinner. We should learn to pat ourselves on the back when we put bad days behind us and start again, not just when we see the numbers go down on the…

By volume, the muscle weighs more than fat. A cubic foot of mucsle weighs more than a cubic foot of fat. Mucsle however is more dense and occupies less space, so 1 pound of muscle occupies much less space than a pound of fat. Get it?

Stair stepper kills me. Love the elliptical. What's a burpee?

I can relate. My old analog weighed 5-6 lbs heavier than my digital. My Dr's scale agreed with the digital, so I went with that. I have to say that my digital is very consistent, so I do trust it. Whatever one you use, congrats for making commitment to yourself:) I meant analog weighed me lighter than digital.

Thanks for all of the great recommendations everyone,

Could someone enlighten me here? Are you saying that anyone can submit a food item calorie count to the data base? I was under the impression that the the experts at MFP were responsible for the data base.

Do you ever watch Dives, Diners, and Drive Ins? The host is always stuffing something huge in his pie hole. Makes me a little grossed out.

Separate bicep and tricep machines (not sure what the specific names are), overhead presses (5 lbs each hand), flies for the pecs (12.5 lbs each hand), and a machine where I pull 45 lbs from up above to my chest. I do 3 sets of 12 for all of these fun activities. Good luck!

Just curious HeathrMN, do you ride that fine beast, and does the weight lifting help with your riding? Part of my reason for weight training was to improve my weekly horseback lesson. Thanks for your support!

I think the closer you get to your ideal weight, the harder it is to lose. I only wanted to lose 20 lbs, and it is taking a lot of patience! Having said that I have the utmost respect and admiratiotion for all of my mfp friends who have lost 30-50-100+ lbs and have been working at it for months. They are the Heros of mfp!

I recently and unfortunately bought the book "Skinny *****" thinking it may be an interesting perspective on eating and nutrition. Boy was I wrong. This book promotes vegan diet and is sooooo restrictive. Maybe this kind of torture works for some, but not for me. I'm proud that I have cleaned up my diet, but I'm not gonna…

I think the one that you like best is the one that you should get. They are both great machines, but which one will YOU stick with?

I started at 164 and had a goal to lose 20 lbs. It took me about 6 weeks to lose the 1st 10 lbs. I felt the same as you, but as I kept with this program, my habits improved and I started seeing results. Stick with it. It will happen.

Are you gripping the the hand rail tightly? Sometimes I see people looking like they are holding on for dear life and if they let go of the rail, they will go flying off the back of the machine. If you are I would decrease intensity so that you don't have to " hold on". Gripping to tight might impair circulation and cause…

Holy ship! Mfp has gotten so fruckin funny since I friended you. Mfp should be paying you for keeping us losers laughing! That was meant for you ham bites. I don't know how to work this thang!

Thanks guys! You are right Elaine, I should focus on MY journey. Congrats to you on 73 lbs...amazing!

I totally relate. I do 12 hou nights also, and many times the following day is a carb disaster. I'm getting better though. Hang in there.

I wouldn't worry about eating any apple! It is good for you.
