  • Hi Everyone! I'm June and I am a Mom, Nurse Practitioner and Yoga Instructor. Coming back to MFP to renew my commitment to health, fitness and happy living. Happy to find a group that focuses on the positive! Nice to meet you all!
  • It could be muscle soreness, but it is easy to mess up your shoulder joint with push ups. I've done power yoga for years, and have had both shoulders go out from too many high to low planks. It is a difficult move that you should be coached on from a form standpoint.
  • I counted cals until what was once difficult (knowing how many cals I was eating, and how they were distributed between macros), became a habit. I would say it took about a year. Once good habits were established, my hunger and satiety signals became much clearer. Now I eat more intuitively. I have gained back a few…
  • Eat em! If your cholesterol is high, I'm willing to bet its not from the eggs. Just limit to 1-2 a day.
  • Thanks for the ideas everyone. The issue with entering recipes for me is I may never make that thing again, so why take the time to enter it. Bottom line is, I managed to do this before, so I just need to stop whining and just do it, even if it is a little time consuming. I like the idea of under-reporting exercise d.…
  • Ok...Game on! I am inspired! I use that assist machine at the gym. I set it at 70 lbs which is about 1/2 of my weight, and do 10-12 pull ups 2 sets using different grips. Next time I go, I will set the weight to 35 and see what happens. My left shoulder bursitis may not like it, but I'm giving it a shot anyway. Would love…
  • I do 30-40 minutes of cardio...either bike, elliptical, or treadmill, then 20-30 minutes of strength training. I too was a bit compulsive with the weights, but I have backed off a bit and am still happy with the results. Also do hot power yoga a couple of times a week which I feel is a nice combo of strength and cardio. I…
  • Bananas, yogurt, almond milk, ice, honey.
  • Looped over a beam on my back deck (when the weather is nice). Also put an interval timer app on my iPad so that I can listen to tunes and move from one move to the next when the timer tells me to. I think poor form doing TRX hurt my shoulder, so have not done in a while, but I will go back to it. So versatile and…
  • Back to consistent logging after 2 years and an insidious 10 lb weight gain. Trying to stay under 1200 net cals. In my mind, I thought my cals were reasonable, but now that I am logging again, I see that my perception was much different than reality.
  • Yes you can! Good for you for lasting a couple of days with good eating. Just because you had biscuits and chocolate doesn't cancel out that good work. Have your treat and move back to good eating ASAP. I imagine it must be hard if you are home caring for a baby. Maybe the change in routine makes it hard to stick with a…
  • What an amazing Mom! Your son must be so proud. Such a geat gift for him and you!
  • Isn't there some saying that weight loss happens in the kitchen, not the gym? I agree with this but....I would be a mess without exercise. Endorphins are a beautiful thing. Without exercise, I would get nothing done! Exercise keeps me sane. There are so many different things you can do. The key is finding something that…
  • I totally agree with this. It's one thing to buy the healthy good stuff and quite Another to actually eat it. This was hard for me at first, and I did waste a lot. Now I get a kick out of how far I can stretch my good food. It feels great when you can transform leftovers into something healthy and yummy. Cooking/ preparing…
  • I'd like to suggest buying a fab NEW wardrobe! You deserve it! Congrats on breakthrough!
  • While I was losing weight, yes there were times of gnawing hunger. I am maintaining now in my 2nd year, and I am rarely hungry. I believe it is because I have improved my food choices. If you give your body good stff at regular intervals, there is no need to be hungry. Those who say you can lose weight by eating twinkles…
  • Noticed that my best body is not a skinny body, but a fit and tone one. Love wearing a two piece bathing suit at 47, and having a closet full of clothes that I actually like. I look forward to getting dressed every day!
  • I have had it for about a year now. No problems so far. Also came with a stout pitcher container that has replaced my food processor. Crushes ice well.
  • I have a Ninja blender. It comes with smoothie sized cups so that you can make the smoothie in th cup, change the lid and drink out of same container. Sooo easy! Never thought I would be drinking so many meals. I am hooked. Endless possibilities! I paid 100 dollars max. Thin I got it at bed and bath.
  • Atkins is not sustainable IMO. Any plan that restricts a major macros group as Atkins does is a less than healthy way to make a Lifestyle change. Losing 20 lbs in 2 weeks...also not healthy or sustainable. Should I comment on 6 eggs and diet soda? Nah. I think I will stop there.

  • He has been fighting these accusations for YEARS! It has consumed too much of his life. He is not admitting it, just moving on.
  • Umm, I thought this was the TRX forum. Where are you referring to? I need some new ideas.
  • Just put one on my back deck! I love it. So many things to do with it. Such a great workout. I throw in kettle bell swings between sets for cardio. I took about 15 TRX classes before I bought my own. I think it is important to get the proper form with TRX, otherwise, I think you could really hurt your back. Wish there was…
  • I like free weights (kettle bells specifically) better than machines. Exercises with free weights that require balance works your whole body especially your core while working your legs. While machines may focus on one muscle group, I think they are uni-dimentianal and less interesting. Good luck!
  • Agree with this. I lost about 30 lbs in the time you want to lose 70. I lost it slowly.I exercised and gradually cleaned up my diet. Slow and steady is the way to go! The weight has stayed off.
  • Hard to say exactly, but if you are putting in good effort, swinging the KBs, and not taking long breaks, your are burning about 600 cals pr hour, and probably more if you are really workin it:) love my KBs!
  • Yep, I can relate. I started at 165, and reached my goal of 145, then lost another 3-5 lbs. I'm now 142. I felt the same way. Almost like using more weight loss as insurance against weight gain. But at. 142, it's like my body said "you are done!" I have managed to stay between 140 and 144 for many months by weighing in…
