You can have a look at my diary, its opened. I eat everything and i'm addicted to rice, there is no way I could give it up. For me portion control is the main thing that works and counting calories allows me to see how what I likes fits. And this site means i'm accountable to not just myself, so prevents slipping.

Nothing wrong with what you're doing. I personal don't log any exercise related to commuting to work. I think its best to include stuff like that in your activity level.

I honestly think you're eating too much for what you want to acheive. I'm 5' 7"ish and and will require 1800 -1900 to maintain 160lb (without exercise). you may want to re-evaluate your goals if you are trying to lose and see rapid results with what you are currently eating.

The scale is not everything. take measurements too. Don't weight yourself so often and when you do also, try to aim for the same time of day - i can put on three pounds from morning until night. As water doesn't affect the calorie count, only the swelling, its best to measure the dry weight as you will probably cook it slightly differently every time. Which will also be different to the "cooked" portion in the database as we all like our pasta a certain way.
