Possibly. These two things contradict each other so Im not sure exactly what they meant. The first two lines are incorrect by themselves but the last line is correct.

Thats fine. But it is not a factor in weight loss when calories are the same. Nutrition, health, mood sure. Eat as "clean" as you want with how ever you define it. The problem starts when someone claims it is necessary for weight change.
-
No you cant. If you are losing weight it is because you are eating at a deficit or losing water weight.

You are not alone. This often happens to people that lose weight without strength training. I agree with the others keep losing the body fat while starting strength training. Strong Curves is a great book with gym and home programs. Even if you kept your calories the same and started the strength training you would see…

So nobody was fat and unhealthy before advertising and corporations? Advertisers make you want to be thin and healthy and at the same time make you fat and unhealthy? Now you want the government to insulate and protect you from Them because it is their fault. I see you putting a lot of blame on everyone and everything but…

Could be some gyno but hard to tell since you also lost so much weight. It could be just excess skin. See the doctor but start a full body strength program as soon as you can. It might fix itself without surgery or meds.
-
Im curious to know what you would do about it. Would create a government agency to regulate what, when and who advertising could target?
-
I agree with ninerbuff. You could count it in your activity level if it is something you do everyday though. Wont make a huge difference unless you stop doing it or only do it a few times per week.

Breakfast cereal and Koolaid commercials must make your head explode.

Just out of shape. :) Just keep at it and it will get easier. When I first started a few years ago I jumped on one at my gym. 5 mins at 7mph and I felt like I was gonna die. Last night I did a whole 60 minutes at 14mph.

Add tea to water it is no longer water right? :p Some water tastes bad and some kids/people dont like it. Adding some flavoring to it hardly seems like the downfall of society. Going back to sleep. Wake me when there is something to actually worry about.

In addition to what the others have said. http://www.cdc.gov/physicalactivity/growingstronger/why/ http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/fitness/in-depth/strength-training/art-20046670 It also has cardio vascular benefits that get overlooked. http://circ.ahajournals.org/content/101/7/828/T1.expansion.html I know a few…

Lean beef. Pork is not only ham and bacon. High mercury only a concern with long living fish. Even then its only a problem if you eat it too often or are pregnant. There is shellfish, wild game (elk, buffalo, deer) Other poultry (turkey, duck) Rabbit is great also if you can find it. Plus tons of vegetarian sources.

lets call it what it is. Pumpkin mush on a cracker.

Exercises cant spot reduce body fat. Meaning that no matter which exercise you do your body will lose fat from all over your body at once (as long as you are in a caloric deficit). The biggest fitness myths out there are programs designed to target problem areas for fat loss. You follow the programs and eat the right…

Probably nothing wrong with it as long as you are getting good nutrition from your other meals. Mix it with milk and a banana and you should be covered.

I dont think I have ever seen Magnesium on a food label. Even if they added the category you would still have to enter it manually.

Same with me. Started doing all the stuff I heard from the bro's and guru's. Came here and got educated pretty quickly. Mean people told me I was wrong and backed it up with credible sources. After I got over the initial butthurt I read their info and had my eyes opened. Thank you MFP meanies for caring enough to correct…

There is no reason you have to do planks but you could do push up position or modified push up position (knees). Its just a plank anyways. If you cant do them on the ground start with doing them against the counter and then a chair and then the ground.

When I first started my hands hurt but I did get used to it. Lifted for a few years and started getting some soreness in my wrists when bench pressing heavy. I bought some wrist wraps and the pain went away after that. Big debate on wearing gloves while lifting. I dont like them but I did wear them, when I first started,…

I am building a home gym but I really enjoy the gym atmosphere and the workouts seem more focused there. Also I love the mirrors. :D

Stand uncomfortably close and stare at people while licking your lips. They usually give you some space after that. :D Might not work for you though.

You can get there if you want to. There is no reason that you cant. What he is saying is that doing all the ab work should only be to strengthen those muscles. It wont help tighten, tone, reduce or anything like that. That will come from calorie management. Do the strength training to preserve muscles and strengthen your…

I vary my core work also. I especially like the twisting exercises like Russian twists, windshield wipers or weighted side bends.
-
Does a reverse crunch not also activate upper abdominal s?
-
Um....true. Does that conflict with what I said?
-
There is no way to isolate them and there is no way to spot reduce. Do core work for strength if you want though. Leg raises, planks and so on.
