I find responses like "I've already had so much Xmas junk food lately, I have to stop eating it at work!" or "no thanks, all this sugar has been giving me mood swings" don't invite the same attention as talking about a diet.

It might be 'bicycle seat neuropathy' caused by compression of the pudendal nerve. Google the term and see if your symptoms match.

I can totally understand how some people would feel discouraged by daily fluctuations during their weight loss journey. However, I think daily weighing once you reach maintenance sounds beneficial, to avoid nasty surprises later. I plan to weigh myself daily forever.

If I were in your shoes I would probably try dropping my (net) calories a little bit, no more than 200, for a few weeks - just in case any of your calculations for BMR/calorie intake/calories burned, etc are a bit off.
