I lost all my weight while lifting weights. Pretty much a 5x5 with accessories work thrown in after.
-
2 years of lifting. She-bulk right?
-
Oh, you are SO funny
-
Hard to tell from the before pics.

Before After 1 year of lifting and cutting. Street clothes in case some might think we look "bulky" or muscular all the time. Pictures above are right after a workout and flexed. Most people are surprised that I lift heavy weights. 2 years lifting, 1 year maintaining.

Exactly...more people need to make the switch to believing that counting calories isn't a crazy diet craze but a way of keeping a healthy lifestyle.

Unless I am at the gym or flexing most people are surprised when I tell them I lift weights. Been at maintenance for almost a year after getting to goal weight from lifting and counting caloires. Muscle and weight gains have stopped and I am just working on getting stronger and staying healthy.

I didnt get back to this thread to thank you all for the nice comments. Glad that it rolled. All you ladies are so inspiring.

How sexist are you? Men dont understand that women hold more fat? Are you serious? Get a female trainer? WTF? Yes women hold more fat than men. We also look leaner at higher BF% Win for us. Changes nothing about how to retain LBM while losing body fat. Exactly the same process for men and women at all times of the month.

^ Another vote for strength training from a woman. The basics are the same for males and females. Cant help without seeing your diary but I would add: 4. Small calorie deficit 5. Enough protein.

Thank you. :flowerforyou: ^Gorgeous and amazingly strong.

1x body weight dead lifts for reps. Heavy for me. Squat booty. LOL Sooo bulky. Not street clothes but you get the idea.

:blushing: Mostly doing 5x5 on the big lifts (Bench press, dead lifts, over head press, squats) followed by 8-12 reps on the accessory lifts.

Thank you. One year of lifting weights and eating less.

5'3" 115 I try to net around 1450 so I usually end up eating 1700-1800. Still losing body fat with this.

Thanks everyone.

^^ exactly. Try not to give up something you really love because it comes back to bite you. This should be a lifetime change, not just a diet to lose the weight. There is nothing wrong with chocolate pudding...you just get to eat a lot more if you go with the veggies instead : ) All about calories in, calories out.

Yes. The only time I get a big insulin spike is when I eat too many carbs all at once; that's why I try to balance them throughout the day along with the protein because that can cause it to spike too.

I'm set on 50carb/25protein/25fat; protein is based on .8-1g lean body weight and fat is based on .35g lean body weight. I'm totally not a believer in the whole low carb thing, however I'm not diabetic and don't have any gluten issues so being higher on that isn't a problem for me.

I have a bagel just about every day for breakfast and don't have any problems. I usually go for the whole wheat variety but have been splurging on the pumpkin spice since it's in season. Peanut butter is high in calories so I'd go for a light smearing of cream cheese or an egg if it's an option. Enjoy your bagel day!

OMG that Ghiradelli white chocolate peppermint sounds delicious! Might just have to go out and get some to try for myself. When I do indulge in a Starbucks, I always go for the skinny white chocolate mocha with no whip...for a whopping 350 calories it's just not worth it as an all the time thing.

I do the same as above, however Swai is my favorite for the low calorie/high protein/non fishy taste. I spray the thawed fillets with my olive oil mister, then add Old Bay or Johnny Seasoning, pepper, garlic powder, tumeric and ginger powder. Bake for about 15 mins in a non preheated oven.

I wear gloves for anything that I'm holding a bar or a dumbbell for, it just helps cushion a bit My hands still get sore from gripping around the bar, but that goes away soon after I'm done. Deadlifts can hurt if you don't lift them correctly, so maybe lower the weight until you're sure you have the correct form down. I've…
