Likely, you are losing fat deposits from around your internal organs. This kind of fat is the most deadly, so it's very good that you are getting rid of it. I found that there weren't many visible changes until I'd lost at least 15 pounds, so hang in there!! And as someone above posted, I too have lost only 8 pounds in 3…

My breasts only get tender when a) I am pregnant or b) I am gaining weight or c) I am losing weight.

I have two, neither mean anything special, I just happen to like them. Plus, they're symbols of my middle age rebellion  My advice to people getting tattoos is not to make sure they mean something, but to make sure the tattoo is something you can live with for a very long time.

BMI is useless. Basically, my BMI is nearly unchanged because I've lost only 8 pounds this year, even though I've lost 12 1/2 inches and so much fat it isn't funny? Clearly, my BMI is NOT the same, although a pure age/height/weight analysis would say it is.

9 years, not married. One nearly 7 year old daughter together

Me too. I call 'em my "tiger stripes".

Sleeping with a pillow under my top knee (instead of between both of them) is the only way I can sleep. Otherwise, I end up with RLS and terrible back pain. The idea behind doing so is to keep your back straight. I have one on either side of me so it doesn't matter if I roll over, my top leg automatically goes over the…

Anything that is mostly carbs or protein will do. Turkey, greek yogurt, egg whites, brown rice, pasta, plus fruits and veggies of all kinds.

I take a week off every three months. I still work out, if I feel like it, and I still log everything, but I give myself permission to eat what I want without guilt. I've found that this is most effective if I eat up to, but not over, maintenance calories. This helps me keep my sanity, my motivation to be strict with…

I lift 3x a week and do cardio 3x a week, 1 rest day. My schedule is as follows: Abs - Hanging leg raises, slant board crunches, planks cardio (zumba) Legs/glutes - squats, lunges, calf raises zardio (zumba) Upper body - pullups, lat pull downs, rows, bench presses, curls, lateral raises, kickbacks rest cardio (kickboxing)…

I log it all, otherwise a day over here and a day over there (unlogged) turns into a full on orgy of excess for weeks or months. Also, I track and graph my deficit and weight losses, so without semi-accurate info, that whole database is worthless and a waste of time. I

I hate that ad, it's the grossest thing ever. I only get it when I log on from work, naturally. But I browse in private there and I use Firefox at home, which blocks all ads. So I dunno...maybe toenail fungus ads are shown to random users. /urk

Ha, I had the same problem today. Warmup run on the dreadmill, pants (which seem pretty tight until I run) were sliding down constantly. I was hitching up my pants the whole run...I'm sure I looked pretty retarded to the elliptical people behind me :blushing:

Same thing happening for me. I've had the opposite happen too, where the scale moves but you can't see any difference at all! That one is worse. Enjoy your smaller size and trust that what you are working towards is happening. :flowerforyou:

Too busy...between my 1 spouse, 2 jobs, 3 children, 2 pets and 6 workouts per week, who has time for groups? I read other peoples posts now and then though.

I'll take it!!! Please? :flowerforyou:

You could try intervals. I downloaded a 'song' for my ipod that times it for me and gives me action music during the intervals. Intervals is when you run (ie: sprint all out) for a short period, then go slower to recover for about 2x the period you went all out. An example would be to sprint for 10 seconds, then fast walk…

I pay $64 a month for a family membership at the YMCA. Covers gym, all group classes (kickboxing, zumba, step, body pump, spinning, etc.), daycare for kids while working out, pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and a discount on the fee for all group sports for kids. I think it's a great deal.

All these new clothes that keep getting bigger and bigger. I have to keep going out and buying new ones. I just realized today that I have a brand new pair of jeans sitting here that need to be hemmed, but ummm...they're too big now. So that was a total waste of $$.

I'm going to try them. If I can get them tasty enough, my partner will love me long time . He misses his humongeous plates of spaghetti.

You want to lose nearly 3 pounds per DAY? I would say that is very unrealistic and self-defeating. Take off the weight at a reasonable rate and you are much more likely to KEEP it off. I assume that is what you want? 1-2 pounds per week is recommended for many reasons, so 30 pounds would take between 15 and 30 weeks. Eat…

^^ This. Eating sugary and/or simple carbs sets me up perfectly to overeat/binge. Once I have a little, I crave more and more and cannot seem to stop. The solution? Don't start. Give yourself an alternative. Instead of pudding or jello or ice cream, have greek yogurt with fruit. Instead of white bread, potatoes or white…

I never pay much attention to the "crowd", myself. I do what works for me and if it stops working, then I change it up. End of story.

<<< Zumba fan. I go 2x a week, with third cardio session being kickboxing. Love my zumba teacher...she makes the class SO much fun!! (little Ms Bouncy with tons of booty motion :smokin: ).

Go skydiving with my son.

I weigh everyday. I don't think it's either healthy or unhealthy. It just is. I graph my weight and intake on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, so I need to know what the scale says. I can definitely see what happens when I a) don't drink enough water and/or b) eat too much sodium/carbs. But that goes away...it's just…

Try not to use any more pesticides on them, the lice will get so resistant nothing will kill them. One that I've had good luck with is LiceMD, it has no chemicals in it. But the above advice is the best in this thread. Simply use normal conditioner, glop it on and let it stay for 10-15 minutes, then comb it out until…

I just get out the sewing maching and take up the sides of the pants. I've done that twice on some of mine. Now my new ones are starting to sag around thigh/crotch area  I'm not complaining....even if the scale says nothing has changed, my dang clothes show that things ARE changing!!

I have the opposite problem in my house. I lose more than my partner, even though I only have 15 to go and he has 80. I no longer tell him my weight, just ask his and cheer him on for every tiny loss. But then, he has insulin issues and I've gotten mine under control. So it is possible that you have a metabolic issue?
