Almost 12 years in and still need to watch what I eat. I really thought I'd be on "auto-pilot" by now. This takes constant vigilance, but it is so worth it!

I started my most recent weight loss journey October 18, 2009. 2 days earlier I had gone to the Cleveland Clinic for intractable burning pain throughout my body due to MS. I was told that a pain pump could be inserted into my spine, but I needed to be under 300# for them to do it. I cried the whole way home from Cleveland…

Hi Nadia! I am 24 years out from a Roux-en-Y and have been doing low carb/keto for about 5 years. It's a lifestyle that's a great match for those of us s/p surgery. My doc recommends low carb for me as I have MS and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Feel free to friend me.

MS, which causes me pain, fatigue and generally a giant PITA. I try VERY hard to get in at least some exercise, generally in the mornings when my fatigue is lowest, and I use cooking and general housework for exercise, too, as they are things that I cannot always do. I've been cycling between 150-175 pounds lost, depending…

I've lost 172 and do the same thing! I really don't think it matters.

Thanks to Mary who started this group and to everyone else who helped me get back "on track"! Hopefully I can stay there for a while. Lost 10.6 pounds this month (Christmas regain gone!) Now I have about 10-15 more pounds to get to my "low weight" from last summer. Though, honestly, from 370 to 196 is quite an…

Changed the batteries in my scale, aaaannnnnddddd One-der-land! It's been several months since I've seen it! Yesterday my protein was too high, my fat too low. Had blackened swai and spinach salad for dinner. Today is a new day and my fat is usually higher when DH cooks. He likes to make hotdogs, hamburgers, meatloaf.…

Sounds like everyone had a great Mothers Day! I stayed the course having pulled pork with a delicious sugar free/ 2 carbs per serving bbq sauce on Sat (while everyone else ate lasagne, I might add.) Yesterday I had Fat head pizza with mild Italian sausage and onion. Yummy! I came close to asking to go out for a soft serve…

Sorry for the absence. My carbs have been a little high-- but it's mostly from veggies. I need to cut back on the carrot and grape tomato. I WILL NOT cut out my sweet onion! I *might* put 1/4 cup raw sweet onion on my salads. I love my food-- can you tell?

Safe travels and peace for you and your loved ones.

Do you have a history of IBS? Mucous in the stool is generally nothing to worry too much about, especially with diarrhea. It helps "move things along". BUT if you develop fever, dehydration, or notice blood, that's not normal and you should call your doc. If this is so much as to be alarming, call your doc. Hope this helps.

determination. I did NOT want to end up in a wheelchair, and I saw moving as a viable way of preventing, or at least postponing, that outcome. I also read somewhere that for something to become habit, you needed to do it for at least 21 days in a row. So, for me, exercise started as a mixture of fear and determination.

Week 2, Day 8: Total Calories: 1497 Net Carbs: 28 Fat: 93 Protein 96 Ok, too much protein, not enough fat. Should have stayed with 4 oz London Broil instead of 6. Was just so good!!! 30 min of biking done for the day. Will be very happy when it cools off a little; I don't tolerate the heat well. Great job, Mary, on the…
