Many of my friends have tried it and liked it. I just started a few days ago. I'm not much of a meat lover, though, so that's a bit of an issue.

For the average person (not a super athlete or completely sedentary/obese) probably 1500 a day is the minimum you should consume. Otherwise, your body will go into starvation mode and start storing all the calories it can get as fat. Not healthy.

I heard of a good trick for this. If you'r goal is 1700 calories a day, put 17 dollars (or Euros or whatever) in one pocket. Each time you eat 100-worth of calories, transfer one bill to the other pocket (two glasses of wine = 3 bills, e.g.). When you run out of money, stop consuming calories. You have a healthy diet! My trainer tells me that I should not eat fruit after 3, and to try to have most of my carbs early in the day. And carbs should be paired with a fat/protein. Sounds a lot like Pilates (except for the handstand). These seem like fairly gentle exercises but you don't want to get so sore that it puts you off of doing them. Maybe build up gradually, every other day for the first week and see how you feel?
