  • Thank you guys SO much! Maybe I'll grab a small canister of protein for days when a smoothie is all I have time for but I think I'll stick to "real" protein as much as I can. I'm not really lacking it in my diet, just wanted to give the smoothies more staying power. My husband has wholegrain peanut butter toast for…
  • Since you're currently high-carb, low-protein anything that limits carbs will be difficult in the beginning. But once you break the carb addiction, you'll feel loads better! Might I suggest you look into eating Primal? It's a more relaxed version of Paleo that focuses on high protein, high (healthy) fat, and low carb. You…

  • I just throw in whatever is in my fridge. :) I always start with a handful or two of spinach with some water or almond milk. You can use greek yogurt but I don't like the added calories. I always throw in a banana for "body" and then just toss in whatever fruit I have on hand: frozen berries, pineapple, strawberries (stems…
  • I would suggest trying to cut out cereal and replacing it with a high protein, low carb option like scrambled eggs. I have found that when I eat carbs in the morning, particularly cereal, I am famished a couple of hours later. I read this really interesting book, "wheat belly" what talks about how wheat is an appetite…
  • Not to beat a dead horse, but I think you should give Primal a try. It does allow for full-fat dairy (I use Silk in my coffee) but the focus is still on clean veggies and lean meat. The biggest advice I can give you is to cut out wheat completely. If you get some time, skim "Wheat Belly," it's a super interesting read…
  • One thing about the fitbit - my husband has one and loves it so have thought about getting one too. But I wear a lot of dresses (easier to chase a toddler and baby!) - is there a way to wear it with dresses? You know, aside from clipping it to my underwear ... :)
  • My husband has it and LOVES it! He wears it 24/7, even when he's doing P90X. He gets back a lot of calories, it seems like. He logs both his P90X and his fitbit exercise ... he doesn't eat all his cals everyday and sometimes will go to bed with 800+ from the fitbit/P90x even though he has eaten a lot during the day. It…
  • It doesn't make my stomach hurt but will occasionally give me diarrhea. Not every day and not every time I take it but if I have skipped it for a couple days and then take it again I usually have a really lose stool and cramps until I go. Other than that, no issues.
  • Thank you all so much for the support. I know I should be looking at other successes but it's hard when I feel like I'm chained to the scale. :) I'll keep on keeping on and maybe I'll have a big loss next week. :)
