That's how it's designed, but almost all the exercise calorie counts are drastically overestimated. A good practice is to start by eating back half your exercise calories. If you continue to lose weight and aren't hungry, keep doing it. If you lose weight but are hungry, eat more back. If you don't lose weight, eat fewer…

A small amount of sweets. Don't keep them in your house, have a place you go to get them like an ice cream shop or even a gas station for a candy bar. If you're craving them you'll have to weigh your cravings against the hassle of going out and getting them. If your craving is that strong, by all means go out and get some…

I haven't geocached in a couple of years. My dad recently started doing it again because a whole bunch of new ones popped up around my neighborhood. I play Ingress, an augmented reality game you play on your phone that's kind of a combination of urban geocaching and capture the flag. It's easier that geocaching to do on…

Either fat free milk or mix half fat free milk with half half-n-half (quarter-n-three-quarters?).

Big ol' boy shorts. I like Maidenform brand because they come up to about the navel and down over your hips onto the tops of your legs. They don't ride up or work their way down, and they come up and down enough that it won't show lines. They're also pretty and lacy.

Kind of. I'm eating less now than I will at my goal weight, so I consider it a diet. You can call it a deficit if you want, it's the same thing.

Of 21 meals per week, I eat meat at probably 5 of them. I also don't eat a lot of eggs or dairy, nor do I eat a lot of animal fats (all just due to personal preference). I'm a 27 year old woman. My cholesterol is borderline high. Reducing your meat intake might help your cholesterol, and it certainly won't hurt it, but…

You will be in a deficit. If this is a larger pattern of eating in a deficit, you will lose weight. If it's a one day thing while you're trying to eat in a surplus, it will not affect your overall gains.

Trouble on Chrome. Not on Safari.

Trick question, I have 485 calories left. But I'm making up for the weekend.

As long as you don't try to trick anyone into thinking it's actual cake, this is adorable.

The results of the study seem suspect to you. And one study is a lot more science than you have provided. I want people who believe they have a sugar addiction to understand that it is not the same as as being dependent on cocaine. But I also want people who say sugar addiction doesn't exist to understand that it does,…
-
Please don't think I'm advocating that sugar dependence is a thing. It's not. You cannot become dependent on sugar the same way you can to cocaine or heroin. That's not how sugars of any type are processed in the body. I'm merely trying to correct our vocabulary.

-
Apparently not. Or at least not enough to make cocaine more appealing than sugar.

That's because drug addicts are almost universally dependent on their drug of choice. Again: http://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/principles-drug-addiction-treatment-research-based-guide-third-edition/frequently-asked-questions/there-difference-between-physical-dependence

"Perhaps the most extensively studied reward is that of food. Food is the quintessential reward in many rodent studies and has been used as a reinforcer in procedures such as operant (self-administration) tasks, runway tests, maze learning, gambling tasks, and place conditioning (Skinner, 1930; Ettenberg and Camp, 1986;…

This one. It doesn't say exactly that, but things that aren't drugs CAN BE addictive. Which, again, is different than causing dependence. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3139704/
-
Fun fact: there's a difference between an addiction and a dependence. It's entirely possible to be addicted to a type of sugar delivery without being physically dependent on it. Addiction is a pattern of behavior, dependence is a chemical reaction in the brain. But good news! Addictions are easier to break than dependence.…

In theory yes, you eat them all back. In practice, you will never have a perfect number of calories you burned even with a heart rate monitor. It's good to start by eating half of them back. If you're still losing weight and feel good, keep doing that. If you're not losing weight, try eating a quarter of them back. If…

I cut down on carbs just as a side effect of cutting general calories. Carbohydrates were often the largest calorie sink of my meals so they were always the first to be removed to meet daily calorie goals. I get really hungry if I don't get enough carbs.

Resting Btch Face. Two people within the span of a week said I looked so mad all the time, but it was because the last 3lbs of my weight loss came directly from my face.

Eat smaller portions than them.

Be aware of what you eat and drink, but don't obsess over it. Don't be miserable on your honeymoon. Reduced calories will be there when you come home.

I have a bento I haven't had the chance to use yet, but here's a nice blog post about making bento using typical American foods and without any of the cute cutting tools. Good for beginners. http://glorysmischief.com/bento-101

Grapefruit specifically blocks cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzymes from being produced in your intestines and liver. Apparently only grapefruit does this. Blocking these enzymes can cause issues with the absorption of some medications. That's why you see some medicines that tell you to not drink grapefruit juice while…

The director of my community theater told me twice to "stop looking like the world's ending." I couldn't figure out what she meant at the time because I was actually pretty chipper, but I realized later it's because losing weight has given me Resting Btch Face. Not a direct comment on my weight, but about my appearance…

Why aren't you watching Doctor Who?

Wait, do people not realize that when you dump water on yourself, you also donate? Accepting the challenge means you do the water thing AND GIVE MONEY.
