  • Thanks, that's exactly what I meant!
  • You didn't get my point at all! If you listen to every article that tells you something is bad for you, there will be literally no foods left to eat. Love fish? Nope, mercury. How about chicken? Nope, arsenic (same for rice). You can find articles on just about anything if you look hard enough. As I said, eat what you love…
  • As someone mentioned above, it is a lot of hard work to see your abs. You have to get your body fat to a pretty low percentage for that to happen. Higher protein and eating at a small deficit will make your body trade some fat for muscle. You will lose inches, but the scale creeps down. If you want to eat more carbs, it is…
  • Here is my current philosophy on all foods, eat what you love, no one is getting out alive. Let's face it, even though we strive to live longer and feel good longer as we age, eventually your time is up. Every day there is a new boogey man, saturated fat, trans fat(I do avoid this one, it adds no joy to my life), currently…
  • I have restarted like 4 times in just the last 3 months! I am afraid to get on the scale and probably won't until I am back on track fully for at least 2 weeks. Hopefully by then I will be close to my last weight. However I am in a better place than I was, started at 350 and my last weigh in was 285. I know I have only…
  • I have set my calories to maintenance level and will leave it that way through New Years weekend. I probably will not eat all of them many days, but it's good to keep track. I have my self set to sedentary with no exercise even though I will be working out, I just figure it will give me more leeway when I do have an…
  • I have a Quest Bar every night. It takes care of my dessert cravings and it gives me lots of fiber. I find that I actually need the fiber and this solves both problems nicely.
  • I only weigh in once a week and, if my rings are tight, I may wait an extra day or two. I can't handle the daily fluctuations.
  • I have only been doing this again for a few days and I am depressed as well. I am sure that part of it is that the holidays are coming and many of the things I love to have during the holidays are not part of this diet. I am trying to limit calories, which of course I shouldn't be doing. It's just that I am used to doing…
  • I have been sick for a month, so I know how you feel. Get better soon!
  • Steak for sure! But I will have to check out that sale on Boursin as I love that stuff. You could stuff it in chicken breast, pork chops or throw it in cauli-rice or mash! Not to mention as a smear on pepperoni...ok, I need to go get some now!
  • You folks are waaay more adventurous than I! Thinking I will stay with more conventional meats even if the price goes up!
  • I am lucky in that I have a man that loves me fat or thinner and all the stages in between. Be proud of yourself @elize7 you worked hard to get to where you are. Any partner worth having will not care about some saggy skin.
  • I am a strength training kind of girl. I don't want to wait until I reach my goal to tone up, I want to build muscle as I go. The number on the scale isn't important to me, getting smaller and leaner is and strength training is how I am achieving that. I also do cardio a few times a week.
  • Take advantage of the free training that is available at Planet Fitness. They will help you put something together to reach your goals! Congratulations on taking this step on the road to a healthier you!
  • I think it was like 23 days. I just started again, so I am on day 2!
  • I have actually been doing the Biggest Loser challenge on the forums. I have been swinging by here, but hadn't seen any activity.
  • Welcome back! This is my third time around.
  • Wow, I feel old listing them, but hey, I'm 51 years old. Walking on Sunshine, Katrina and the Waves La Vida Loca, Ricky Martin Come on Eileen, Dexy's Midnight Runners
  • What an amazing journey you have been on, thanks for sharing and inspiring others!
  • Thanks for the advice, I will look into those!
  • Following in case someone comes through with that magic dust you requested. I have two arthritic knees and the pain radiates, sometimes up, sometimes down. In my case they told me exercise can help, but it doesn't. I still do it though, hoping against hope that more weight loss will help with the pain, but after losing 65…
  • I would take a train if I could get a ticket at a comparable price. I have no clue why it is so much more expensive! It. of course, also takes longer, but I would be happy to just build the extra time in to the trip. BTW, I get an upset tummy every time I fly, my 4 year old, however, has fallen asleep during the landings!
  • Most planes don't have any larger seats, they just have those teeny, tiny seats. There are very few people who are actually comfortable in an airplane seat these days. And your right, they routinely overbook so that there are no open seats.
  • I actually was able to say yes to all 3 of those requirements listed above even when I was heavier. Again, it's a matter of perception, many people are put off just by the fact that I take up my entire seat with no room left for a personal space bubble, if you will. I am not taking up their space, but they feel like I am.…
  • I am the fat woman on the plane that people were hypothetically speaking about. My way around it is to sit on the side of the plane that only has two seats. Since I used to fly with the hubs, he was the only one being inconvenienced. Now that we have a child, I sit with her, again, no inconvenience. Of course, you can't do…
  • Most vitamins should be taken with food, it helps your body utilize them. I take mine with breakfast,
  • I drink 2 cups a day, with fat free half and half and splenda. It has never slowed me down.
  • I log salad dressing and mayo, but I don't bother with anything else as I don't use very much.
  • It sounds like you need to get your blood sugar under control, pronto, not waiting until you can get your diet together. Saying that you are giving up all sugar and flour forever is really hard to sustain. There are low carbers out there that will tell you it can be done, but for most people it is next to impossible. I…
