Looks like I'm late to the party but my two cents: I love both MT and lifting heavy. MT coach suggested I lift lighter with more reps after coming in too sore to kick due to blasting my legs with weights. i didn't like that idea so I've learned to time my workouts to give myself adequate recovery time. I do two hardcore MT…

What is a good macro ratio to aim for?

I got mirena three weeks ago (ouch!!!) but have not gained weight... actually lost ~3-4 lbs since. mirena didn't make me lose weight, watching what I eat did.

Can I play? I was aiming to lose 20 but really my goal should be closer to 40. I set my goal low bc deep down I think I can't do it :/ motivation and help would be great!

Broke my ankle in May doing Tough Mudder. Over three months later still can't run. My lesson learned: think real hard before doing anything that requires you to sign a death waiver. That piece of paper absolves them from any liability for any injuries suffered due to their ****ty, irresponsibly set up obstacle course. Dear…

If you make your diary public we can see where you may be able to substitute healthier foods or where the problems may be.

Sorry for the double post!

Thanks! It was nice to have a goal to train towards, and it did make me push myself, but the obstacles were not safe. The safety factor had nothing to do with physical ability and more towards poor work on the part of the race. Three months later and I still cannot run, but I am working around it. I am very happy that my…

Cook! It's cheaper, healthier, tastier, and is a creative outlet that can help reduce stress. Start here if you don't know how, may of her recipes are already included in the mfp database: www.skinnytaste.com Good luck!

I broke my ankle in the tough mudder race (please don't do it, the obstacles are shotty and many people get injured. Its not tough it's stupid!) Anyhow, swimming has kept me sane as I recover. If possible, you may even want to try open water swimming, and/or look for swim groups in your area. Great low impact exercise and…

It's only been a few days since I started this new fine tuning in my diet but i'm already seeing benefits: my muscle definition is more visible (the muscle was always there, is that the fat is slowly starting to melt away). in addition my skin is improving, moods less erratic, and I have more energy. Best of luck!! Let me…

I agree, dial back cardio and increase weights. I'd be willing to bet that she is not lifting heavy enough.

I've had trainers tell me to watch my fruit intake, which I ignored for years. Fruit is good for you, it won't make you fat! Which is true_ unless you eat it (or anything else for that matter) in excess. After trolling the diaries of a few women with my dream physique I realized how much more sugar I was consuming than…

For now counting is good for me because i'm just recently back on mfp after a two year hiatus. After my first few days I realized that my sugar intake was though the roof- no wonder I workout all the time yet don't see results. In the few days I've made adjustments i'm already seeing positive change. I do agree with the…

Maybe (in addition to the good suggestions of others about overestimating burn and underestimating calories in) you are doing too much cardio not enough heavy weights. Don't be afraid of heavy weighs (ones that are so heavy that you can only do a few reps of each exercise-less than 12 reps before fatigue). The low weights…

Congrats on your progress so far! Keep it up!

Since mfp I have been replacing fruits with veggies/ have been very careful with fruit portions and replaced milk with unsweetened almond milk bc my sugar was consistantly triple or more what it should have been. Also got rid of pasta, mashed potatoes, and rice for spaghetti squash, zucchini noodles, and cauliflower mash.…
