I have a 5K on Saturday and I was really looking forward to pushing myself and obtaining a new PR...wouldn't you know it, last night I came down with a cold. I stayed home today from work and will probably stay home tomorrow so I can continue to rest. I want to be in the best shape possible for Saturday. I feel fine below…

Great post!! :drinker: Here, here!

Exactly! I weigh 242 lbs right now so I aim for 121 oz a day, which is just shy of a gallon. I'd type more, but I hafta pee!
-
I hope it tapers off soon because I have been drinking about a gallon of water a day now for about a week and WOW! The urge to have to pee comes suddenly, comes often, and is so annoying! On the plus side...it is almost entirely clear now, no odor whatsoever, and my skin is looking better. AND I figure I burn about 2-5…

I did it!! I signed up for this race! My boyfriend (wonderful man that he is) agreed to do it with me and that was the last motivating push I needed. I am so excited to challenge myself with something like this. I did an obstacle race last November and loved how great it felt to finish. This one is going to be even tougher…

I absolutely love the workout I get from jumping rope! I work up a sweat in no time and I like challenging myself to how many times I can jump without messing up and smacking myself in the legs with the rope

5561.4 + 23= 5584.1

Nevermind, I looked it up! I may just have to try this and see what happens. :drinker: Thanks and good luck to you! :flowerforyou:

Can you explain what calorie cycling is? :blushing:

I'm trying to get INTO the 230's! I've been stuck in the 240's for awhile and I'm hovering around 242...

I wanted to do that one but none of my friends were willing to join me and I didn't want to do something like that by myself. It looks awesome! You will have a blast!

I'm a fan of the Turbo Kickboxing classes at 24 Hour Fitness and I call the area around me the "Splash Zone" because I seriously work up a sweat just during the warm-up for the class. By the end of the 60 minutes, my ponytail is drenched and my face/neck are dripping. Any movement from me and droplets go flying. I love it!…

You don't even look like the same person! Wow, what a great job!

This thread made me curious about standing vs sitting (I only read to page 2, so I don't know what might have been on pages 3-?). I have an app with all sorts of "activities" on it and standing/sitting just happen to be on there. With my weight (242) and 3 hours of standing, it indicates I would burn 432.22 calories during…

Yay for reaching ONEderland! My goal is to one day see a 1 at the beginning of my weight! 43 more pounds to go for me. "Just keep sweating, just keep sweating, sweating, sweating, what do we do, we sweat...sweat...sweat..." I had to help an ex once (while we were together) prepare for a colonoscopy and he was…

I have a FitBit too and I love to watch my progress! I was stoked when I got an email once saying I had earned a badge for doing so many steps in a day. I recommend getting one if you can afford it. They sync with MFP and the monitoring is great.

To simply walk a long distance, I need a distraction. Good music on my iPhone, good scenery to look at, or a buddy to walk with me and talk. However, I realized awhile ago that when I would go for a walk, somewhere deep inside of me was saying I needed to actually be running/jogging. I tried it one day and WOW! It was…

*bump* I'm a 42/44 F as well and my current sports bra works just OK but I'd love to see what people suggest for something better. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RAMDAQ/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i00 This is the one I use right now. I like how well it traps sweat from my neck dripping down but when I'm running, the…

Aww, thanks! I got lucky with this dress. It was an awesome find at Torrid. Soon, though, it'll be too big for me. Sadness and happiness all at the same time, haha.

Great job! You look fantastic! :)

I hope my story can help you with your journey here on MFP. I also struggled with "diets" all my life because I just couldn't give up certain foods (soda, pizza, Olive Garden). When I joined MFP, I weighed 265 lbs and wore a size 22 in pants and 3X in tops. I treat my calories like my bank account. I try to stay in the…

My skinny jeans are a size 16. In March, right before I started MFP, I was a size 22. I put those on now and they barely stay on for a few seconds until they begin sliding down on their own. It's a great feeling. Good job!
-
I can't wait for that moment where I'm smaller than I've ever been. Way to go!! :)
-
They look great on you! Good job!
-
Thanks, ladies! If I keep up the progress, I'll soon be into a size that I haven't worn since JR High (size 14)! :flowerforyou: Whoop!

It irks me when people says, "Well, you know, muscle weighs more than fat..." No, it doesn't! If you have a pound of muscle and a pound of fat, guess what? They both weigh exactly the same. We need to change the saying to something like, "Fat is greedy and takes up more room in your body"

Wow! This might be one of the most motivating B/A posts I've seen. You're awesome!

Benefits for swimming: 1) I'm not sweating (haha) 2) I feel like I weigh nothing in the pool. Love that feeling. 3) I can get some great stretching done while swimming. 4) With a good session of laps, my arm muscles get a great workout. I don't have any pics for you, sorry. I usually swim when I need a break from my…
