I'm right in the middle of 5'6" and 5'7"! Just hit my 110 days of logging today, so I am definitely dedicated to becoming a healthier me. I'm 29 and looking to lose about 80 more lbs total. Feel free to add me for motivation, encouragement, or to just make a new friend. :drinker:

That's awesome!

Hope this helps add some perspective for you. See my previous comment on the OP weight gain of 4%. Now to do the math for you: You are at 281 right now. If you gained 4% of your weight, it would equate to about 11 lbs. I'm pretty sure if you gained 11 pounds, you would be a little worried as well.

I can understand the freak out. If someone weighs 123, as the OP was prior to her 5 lbs weight gain, she gained about 0.04, or 4% of her weight back. If you weigh 230 and you gain 4% of your weight, it would be about 9 lbs. For me, I weigh 242 right now and if I gained 4% of my weight, I would be gaining 9.7 lbs. YIKES!…

What an amazing NSV. Good job!!

That's awesome! LOL I'm looking forward to that movie too.

Thanks for the suggestions! I love the King Kong one. I took the lazy way out and bought Twinkies. We get to pick the movie to bring representation food. I picked Twinkies because I really liked Zombieland and the guy in there searches for Twinkies all the time. I won't be eating them, though. Yuck. But I know my…

A track is probably a good place to start because you won't have anything getting in the way of your time when you are on the jogging portion of it (like a red light crosswalk or something). Have fun!

No ideas? Hmm...Maybe I'll just do Fried Green Tomatoes and call it a day...haha

This is why my food diary is private...I know I still eat "crap" food and am hoping to halt that habit soon. However, like others have said, I eat a LOT LESS of it than I used to. I try to make better decisions when I can and hopefully one day the better decisions will outnumber the "bad" ones. I did have a mini-food…

I'm so excited that you signed up! Did your husband sign up with you as well? My boyfriend said, "A 5K, yes. 13.1 miles, NO WAY!" haha I felt proud that I will do something he doesn't feel he could accomplish. I love your team name! haha
-
Sign up! I'm making the leap too from 3-4 miles a few times a week and building up to this distance! We can totally do it and it will feel amazing afterward!
-
Thanks! I was so tired afterward...and I had a bloody toe BUT I love my medal  Can't wait to tackle another 10K.

I have a picture on my profile where I look like I'm gunna die from the exertion...I remind myself that even though I was dying, I was doing so on the course and not sitting on my couch about to have a heart attack from clogged arteries. If I can find it (and figure out how to post it) I'll show you a picture of my brother…

I am 242 lbs. I was 260+ when I did my first 5K in March of 2011. I felt like the biggest heifer out there (even though I wasn't). However, I realized that the desire to run (jog) was in me and I was going to finish that race even if it killed me. I came in at 44 mins (and some odd seconds). Definitely didn't win any…

I'm so happy your post wasn't really about stressing over 2 calories! :drinker:

Great NSV! I can't wait for the day when I, too, can walk without my thighs trying to make a fire in my jeans!

I was on the pill for years (microgestin). Only after I switch to a non-hormon bc method did I realize that the pill not only caused weight gained and trouble losing weight, it was also causing my migraines. I have had the Paraguard IUD for almost 2 years now and I love it. No hormones whatsoever and it is good for 10+ yrs.

It's about learning control. Counting calories has opened my eyes to just how much that refill of coke, extra bread stick, and double fudge sundae can have on my day (and waistline). You are here because you felt, at least at some point, that you needed to become a healthier you. Part of being healthy is being in control…

The farthest I've ever gone is 6 miles as well (a 10K I did in April!) but a 1/2 marathon is on my bucket list and there is plenty of time to train for it. If you sign up and you are local, let me know! We could meet up for training runs.
-
Thanks! I actually did end up registering yesterday so it is official. I'll be doing my first 1/2 marathon in Jan and I'm so excited!
-
That would be awesome, thanks! It'll be my first time training for a half marathon and since I'm a huge Disney fan, I figure this one would be a good one. Plus, it is a LONG time away and gives me plenty of training time!
-
That's awesome. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the last 23. I know you can do it! :)
-
If I gained what I lost, I'd weigh 289. Woah!
-
I'd love to join! I need to stop with the soda! Granted, I've cut way back since joining MFP but I'd love to be able to go 30 days without it. I've only ever been able to do that once.
-
Feel free to add me. I love support (both giving and receiving) and I log on every day. :flowerforyou:

That is a fantastic "before/after" comparison! Thank you so much for sharing. Congrats on the success. I am inspired.

This is great! I'm definitely going to do this. Thanks!
