It is safer to lose slowly. Doctors generall recommend 0.5-1 lb per week, unless medically supervised or if you are VERY obese, 2 lbs/wk to start (but closer to 0.5-1lb/wk as you progress). Studies show the longer you take to lose, the more likely you are to keep it off... Also, you didn't put it all on at a rate of…

I have some fantastic digestive pyrotechnics when eating mussels too. I'm told I will likely develop other shellfish allergies in the future. :(

I make a HUGE batch of spaghetti sauce once a month (I add a LOT of fresh cut up veggies) and freeze it in separate portions; It's my son's favourite, so I usually make spaghetti once a week (at least every two weeks). I portion enough sauce for one supper and one meal of lunch leftovers; Then all I need to do is cook…

Milk is high in protein, vitamins/minerals and has good fat... Don't cut it out completely, it's a super food!

Welcome to motherhood, where everything makes you feel guilty. Workout when you can, accept that you're a better mother when you're healthy, and that a workout is only 4% of your day... Let him stay up 4% longer if it helps you feel less guilty.

Read "New Rules of Lifting" or "New Rules of Lifting for Women". Edit: checked your profile, and seeing as how you're a dude, you can probably skip the NROLFW and just read the first one.

I burst out in hysterical laughter at this... I think everybody in my office knows I'm not actually working at this point.

My body needs more calories when I PMS... Seriously, I am STARVING the week before Shark Week and have to eat 150-300 extra cals/day for a few days. I listen to my body and eat 'em.

I work out at the park. My son and I meet a friend and her daughter there; the kids know they can help themselves to snacks and that they must stay on the equipment for the 30-45 minutes it takes (and only interupt for emergencies.)

Turn on the light and look.

I have had very many piercing, but got rid of most when I had my son. My very favourite, that I couldn't bear to get rid of, is the one on my nape (the back of my neck). I love it!!!

I bought a pass at the local college by my house. I'm an alumni, so I pay $250/year for my family pass... myself, spouse and children get unlimitted use of the pool, weight room, gym and bowling alley. Lockers and classes are extra. There is no childcare available.

Ponytail with one elastic. Second elastic holds the bun. Alternatively, one or two braids. (I know two braids sort of screams "Hey, old man in the white van! I want free candy!" but it works)

Change the batteries in your scale and make sure it's not the kind that uses previous measurements to avoid short term fluxuations (you know, when you step on the scale five times in five minutes and get five different weights); I've heard that type of scale can glitch out when the batteries are low.

I calculated my BMR a bajillion times using a bunch of online calculators... Most said my BMR was higher than MFP calculated. I always eat more than that, and adjusted my MFP goal to reflect it. If I were you, I'd set your goal somewhere between 1950 and 1650, and see what happens over a 12 week period. Readjust in three…

Eat less than 1765 but more than 1288

Fruit, dry air popped popcorn, yogurt, protein powder and milk, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, cereal, nuts, veggies, hummus, cheese, oatmeal, eggs.... The list is endless. I pack a lunch and two snacks and eat pretty much all day at work.

Why would I deprive myself of something I truly enjoy? I am learning appropriate potion sizes (and not to go for seconds or thirds) but I want to maintain when all is said and done. I budget for my daily cup and enjoy it thoroughly!

I eat 1g protein /lb of body weight 0.4 g fat /lb body weight Then the rest are carbs; I eat enough carbs to get my calorie intake above my BMR. It works for me.

I (respectfully) disagree with the part about not adding friends who haven't lost 10 or more pounds; My goals weren't really about weight... It was about cathching my weight gain before it got out of hand and getting my abs back... I missed them. I'm almost at my ab goal, but will probably NEVER drop 15 pounds, I just…

Get drunk. Pick up somebody hot. Find alternative ways to burn calories.

Do not trust the numbers MFP sets out. Do your research and choose your own calorie goal.

... But watch out for daddy issues.

I have dated older guys before and would do it again, but would be careful/take it a bit slower to ensure there wasn't a maturity gap or rate of personal growth difference. I think it can be more of an issue when she's in her early twenties (you'd just be SO different) instead of in her late twenties and older; in her late…

I mix my vanilla powder with cinnamon and nutmeg, and then add it to an iced latte... It's delicious.

"I got" or "I seen" when somebody means "I have" or "I saw." Also, I cannot stand "that's gay" for something negative.

HaHaHa! "Next time just find somebody you really hate, and give her half a house" - a friend.

Have you read "New Rules of Lifting for Women?". It's highly recommended by MFP users.
