PS. I'm travelling around N. America (I'm from the UK) - doing the west coast, Florida and New York

Thank you for all your comments - it's been so helpful and everything makes a lot more sense now!

I'm away for 10 weeks!

Sorry I was a bit confused about the whole fat/muscle thing clearly! It's a control issue for me in terms of my routine - at the minute I track in the morning what I plan on eating throughout the day and stick to it. I know the days I exercise and roughly the calories that will be burnt, and I have my scales to hand when I…

Thank you for the article, that's really helpful. We're probably going to be staying in hostels/hotels mainly. Maybe control is the wrong word - we're going to be on a limited budget is one of the main concerns so getting fresh fruit and veg, meat etc is obviously going to work out more expensive than something like pasta,…

Perfect, thank you. With measuring body fat do circumstances such as how much you eat, wearing clothes etc influence it in the same way as scales do?
-
Thank you so much, I think quite often I am a bit hard on myself and have unrealistic goals. I'll be sure to read that article. Good luck to you as well! x

Thank you, that article is really interesting. I will get a body fat measurement at the weekend. Last time I did it was 3 months ago when I was 10lbs heavier and was 22.9% body fat. Can I ask your opinion on what I should be? Does it depend on my height (5ft4.5)?
-
I don't mind - I appreciate your opinion!

I know that...I also spin 3 hours a week and do a 1.5 hour kettlebell class every week
-
Thank you for your suggestions and advice, I do appreciate it. At the same time I do realise that the number on the scale shouldn't be relied on, and I generally don't. I wasn't looking for toning tips, I do spinning 3x a week and kettlebells once a week so I feel like I've got that side covered if I stick at it. I've…

Thank you!!! You've summed it up exactly...asking this does not mean I have 'deep seeded issues' or whatever anyone else thinks! And thank you for the toning tips...I'll definitely try some side planks x

It's not other people, it's me that thinks I'm heavier than I am! Don't get me wrong I don't feel terrible about myself, but I just don't feel as good as I should for my weight. Think especially because I'm going on holidays in 10 days so the panic is starting to kick in!
-
Haha I'll give you that...the rest of 'my life', not so much!
-
I'm 5 foot 4.5 x
-
No, that's why I started a new one :)
-
What do you mean? The only reason I ask is because I'm convinced that I look far heavier than I actually am...just some reassurance/people to tell me their opinion was all I wanted. I got the idea to do this from other people on the message boards so I'm not sure what the problem is? x
-
I'm not at all hung up on scales, especially because my weight tends to fluctuate a lot. I was really just interested to see what people thought because I know if I saw a picture of myself I would estimate about 10lbs heavier than I actually am. Thank you though! x

Copy and pasting didn't work so I've done it via photobucket-hopefully these work! http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/y434/zh12334/1_zps26694675.png http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/y434/zh12334/3_zps9c19f8a6.png http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/y434/zh12334/2_zpse3e86653.png Bit more long-winded but thanks! x

Sorry does anyone know how to upload photos? :s

You'll want to die every spin class you do but you feel so amazing afterwards! You will get fitter and grasp the technique with every class you do, it's just practice. I spin 3 times a week and noticed changes to my body after as little as a couple of classes. Everything feels firmer, my legs have shape, my arms are toned…

Have you tried spinning? I've been doing it 2-3 times a week and found it's really help to tone and shape my legs without bulking x
