side planks are not going to 'tone' you

I know that...I also spin 3 hours a week and do a 1.5 hour kettlebell class every week0 -
5 foot 4 inches tall. 125 pounds. Your favorite color is pink. It used to be purple but then you and your bestie got in a huge fight and you both loooooved purple but now purple makes you bitter and angry, so pink it is. Your favorite band is Paramore but the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are ok too. You find the Beastie Boys totally overrated, but you are afraid to say anything because of how badly that ended last time. No, you will no go into details. Walks on the beach are ok, but you prefer a good game of chess. But you're still not sure how the Knight moves around, and you lose a lot of games that way. Good thing you only ever play against yourself.
But you'll have to excuse me if that answer isn't accurate. I forgot to calibrate my eyes this morning.
OP, did you not find the answers you were looking for in your other thread?

No, that's why I started a new one
How did you not get your answer? Are you trying to get someone to guess it right or do you just want to hear over and over again how good you look. This isn't yahoo answers.0 -
I'd say 120 and your skinny fat. Your not FAT but you have NO muscle. You don't need to lose weight just lower your body fat percent.

But for realsies, who cares? If you're healthy and feel good but someone thinks you look heavier than you are, just give them:

I don't mind - I appreciate your opinion!0 -
It's not other people, it's me that thinks I'm heavier than I am! Don't get me wrong I don't feel terrible about myself, but I just don't feel as good as I should for my weight. Think especially because I'm going on holidays in 10 days so the panic is starting to kick in!
I have no idea how much you might weigh, though I think you are lovely and shouldn't stress about it quite so much. Many of us here would be thrilled to look like you. However, if YOU are unhappy with how you look, perhaps you should try weight lifting. I do Strong Lifts 5x5 and although I haven't lost "weight", I have seen real progress in how my body looks in a relatively short amount of time. I'm much thicker than you and shorter so I still have a ways to go, but it's working. I think you'd be happy with the results if you tried it. Also read "The New Rules of Lifting For Women". The nutritional section is very enlightening. Good luck to you.0 -

Sometimes we cant see what we really look like. Thats why some people ask others opinions. Im the same way but i have learned not to even ask anything on here anymore because people get so mad if you ask those kind of questions. I dont know why but they do.0

Thank you, that article is really interesting. I will get a body fat measurement at the weekend. Last time I did it was 3 months ago when I was 10lbs heavier and was 22.9% body fat.
Can I ask your opinion on what I should be? Does it depend on my height (5ft4.5)?0 -

Thank you so much, I think quite often I am a bit hard on myself and have unrealistic goals. I'll be sure to read that article. Good luck to you as well! x0 -

Your percentage (especially if you weighed more last time) sounds spot on, honestly. From the source: Aiming for a percentage of between 21 and 24 for women [...] will put you in the fit range.0 -
In asking for an opinion.....I gave her an idea of if she is trying to lose in an area (side planks) ....this is where I personally thought it would/ should be. Many women (including myself) like more definition....tone....etc. vs....muffin top . In her sides ...stomach. I was guessing as where she would like to feel more "fit , lean toned" all guess..... Rather than just guess a weight I gave her an option of where to tone...lean out ....etc....I am sure as we all are aware you can "spot train" etc... If she wants the truth I gave her my honestly where she can get leaner based on her pics provided.
After two kids, being in my 30s and a huge "diastasis recti" (google it peeps for those who haven't bore children and aren't body builders) side planks ... for me ....huge revelation and it could be for many women. Pulling from the core gives incredible results. I thought I would share a positive that I have learned.
Pulling from your core on the side will firm it up vs,....traditional crunches that I cant do or make my diastasis look awful . It can help give the appearance of bringing things back in place and make it look or appear tight and toned lean. (The terms are all inter changeable). If she wanted a guess on weight and a spot I thought she could focus on I gave it to her honesty in all its glory and real vs criticism and rude commentary. She asked.... we all answered. Some of us are in this journey together some of us not so much. Haters gonna hate. Fitness buffs gonna get lean and win! xx OP!0 -

Perfect, thank you. With measuring body fat do circumstances such as how much you eat, wearing clothes etc influence it in the same way as scales do?0 -

The body fat measurement is actually more of a calculation unless you use calipers so those factors wouldn't really influence it except for the fact that you would want to do the measurements it asks for without clothes.0 -
