  • I've been vegetarian for 5 years. I try to eat vegan when I can mostly at home, I travel a lot for work and it can be difficult avoiding cheese. Food over Forks and Food Inc are great movies. You might also want to watch Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. Feel free to add me.
  • Last winter towards the end of season I bought a pair of North Face Gloves (Women's TNF Insulated Apex Glove). I just looked them up online now, they are going for $55 but I only paid maybe $25 (I know I wouldn't have paid $55!!). You might be able to find a deal online. I ran with them on this morning in 31 degree weather…
  • I've been vegetarian for 5 years. MFP does open up your eyes to what you are eating and for me why I had been gaining so much weight over the past few years. My diet was too much bread/pasta/pizza and barely any protein. The websites eating4balance mentioned are good ones for meal ideas. I would also suggest Happy…
  • Funny you post this, I am in the same boat. I met my original goal of losing 47 pounds to be at a BMI of 25 (150 lbs). Now I'm working to lose another 10... I joined a monthly weightloss group on MFP and lost 4 pounds last month. I think it helped me really stay focused (eating 1200 calories and cleaner food choices). I am…
  • Mine is open, feel free to look... I'm vegetarian.
  • I track my calories by wearing a heart rate monitor (Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor). My bootcamp classes are never the same. Some are more cardio then others so this is the best way to somewhat accurately track calories burned.

  • I also travel a lot for work (within the US and overseas). Traveling this year has really been a test of how committed I am to this lifestyle change! When I travel I my expectations are to get in my 8 glasses of water a day and maintain my current weight. With flying I might go up a few pounds but as soon as I get home its…
  • New Glarus - Spotted Cow... Can only buy it in Wisconsin! I'm not much of a beer person but I'll drink Spotted Cow.
  • Congrats on your second Tri! Love reading race reports, this has to be the first with seeing an alligator while on the race route!
  • Congratulations for sticking with it and beating your race time! I too am trying to come up with a workout plan for winter. I'll do the treadmill but find it boring, so I'm looking into cold weather gear for days its above 30 degrees (Wisconsin winters). And I'm looking into a pool membership to work on my swimming skills.…

  • Congrats and nice report! I did my first sprint tri this summer and now I'm hooked. Planning my schedule for next year (3 to 4 events) with my training buddy and we are considering doing an olympic distance. My fear is the longer run, her's is the swim... So I guess we have the winter to train since our tri season in…
  • Thanks for the comments! I'm going to see if I can still get into the race in two weeks... 98% sold out per the website!
