  • Hey Kaci! I try to workout alot more when mine is away to keep me busy and my mind distracted. I'm a SAHM (even though mine is alot older) so by the time I finish my workout, shower and get ready for the day, and eat breakfast, it's already mid morning! Then as you know there's the daily chores (laundry, dishes, etc.),…
  • It definitely has to do with calories in, calories out. How do you think anorexics lose all the weight?!? Granted it's definitely NOT healthy. Exercising builds muscle which helps burns more calories which helps speed up the weight loss. In the long run you can lose some weight without exercising, but it might start to…
  • increase your calorie count by 200 per day...increase your intensity on your workouts if they are too easy...those are the only things I can think of. It's harder to lose weight when you only have a little to lose as well. The last 5-8lbs will be harder. Good luck!
  • I'm going to have to find Chobani and try that one out!
  • I love Fage 0% fat greek yogurt. There's no sugar and the ingredients are as listed: grade A pasteurized skimmed milk & live active yogurt cultures. That's it! I add 1 tbsp. honey and any fruit I'm craving that day (usually raspberries or blueberries). It might take you some getting used to if you're used to the sugar and…
  • I'd up your daily calories to 1400 plus exercise calories. If your building muscle then you probably burn more than the average person. I think you need more calories per day than what you're bringing in. Do you have a HRM? That makes it alot easier too. If you don't have one, I highly recommend it. Then you can really…
  • I have a friend that went from 250 down to 180 doing DDR, granted he was once crowned "best in the nation" in a vegas competition, so he did it 24/7. But it worked and he looks great! At least your having fun while losing weight. Good luck!
  • Healthy turkey chili is a good one to make on sundays too! Then you can morph it into Chili cheese dogs (oscar mayer makes fat free turkey dogs at only 40 cal. each) or chili burgers. I agree with the poster that soups are great! The kids and hubby can make grilled cheese sandwiches or hot ham sandwiches to add more bulk…
  • Good job! I also recommend a HRM. It's amazing to see how many calories you burn doing normal activities like house work, lawn work, and daily errands! Congrats again!
  • I would say something too. As the last poster said: Rules are rules! That's why they were established BEFORE the contest started. If they want to continue then tell them to start another contest immediately after the first one. By adding the extra 2 weeks its letting them know "it's okay, you messed up, we'll change…
  • I give them to neighbors and friends. I hate to see good food go to waste too, but this way I don't have to eat it!
  • Thanks for all the responses! I just did my first workout with my HRM. This is the same workout that I've been doing for awhile now (basic running 4 1/2 miles). I have been really underestimating my calories burned! So now I realized that I truly was taken in way too many calories. So I think I am going to up my base…
  • If you've reached your goal in weight loss maybe add on some 5Ks or adventure races to your goals. Every year I pick a few that I want to do and work towards training for them. I haven't done a marathon yet...I'm slowly working my way there...eventually! LOL I usually check the gym or newspaper for events going on.…
  • This is kind of off the subject of the video systems, but I saw you said you only have $500 to spend. Maybe check out craigslist.org for fitness equipment if you are seriously wanting one. I got a nordic track treadmill for $200 last month. Granted it's older (no tv or ifit or anything like that), but it works great. It…
  • That sounds AWESOME! I'm making that today. I think the kids would like the frozen version too! Thanks for idea!
  • That sounds awesome! I'll have to try to find it. Out here everything is so hard to come by! I just found the sandwich thins a few weeks ago...not at the grocery store..at Target none the less!
  • My mini goal is to burn at least 300 calories a day through some sort of exercise (to bring my calorie count up to 1500 per day)...AT LEAST. Anything less than that and I'm starving! Sometimes I try to do at least 3 miles running/walking extra than my regular workout as well.
  • Me too! csingleton24...though I don't do it as much as I want. I always forget!
  • Congrats! That's so awesome and inspiring! Glad to see you are almost off the meds too.
  • I LOVE CrossFit too! I took 3 minutes off my time by doing CrossFit!
  • I'm curious about this too. I've been on for 12 years. Ready to get off next month but scared what will happen with my weight. Any comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks for bringing it up Darci73!
  • I'm getting a HRM for Christmas, too. I can't wait. Today we went up to Diamond Head (LOTS of stairs and high elevation) but I have no way of getting an actually calorie count. I just guesstimated on that too. Hopefully my guesses are pretty close to the real thing! LOL...I'm with you though...Hurry up Christmas!
  • Do you know the distance you are running? 2 miles, 3 miles, etc? I would add your TOTAL time including walking and running and divide it with the miles to get an the mph. Then look it up on the log and go from there. That's the way I do it. EX: I run/walk 3 miles in 31 minutes...so that's about a 10 minute mile, check the…
  • Thanks for the article! Now I feel justified when I eat 400-500 calories for breakfast!! I feel like I'm doing something right now. Great info. Thanks again.
  • Does your boyfriend feel the same way (unmotivated)? I found I did the same thing. I got to my goal weight, slacked off and started eating bad again. Well, the pounds I lost came back! I was so mad! I worked so hard to get to my goal and I just let it slip away. It took a few months to come back on and I was still working…
  • What a difference! You look great! Congrats!
  • I've seen ads for these in my food magazines, but we don't have them here! I can't wait to try them!
  • “There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstance permit. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.” "Second place is first place loser." “An ounce of performance is worth pounds of promises.” “It was character…
  • And it's gotta be the processed cheese! The melt factor makes it the best! YUMMMM....
  • I usually cheat on weekends also. It's harder to stay on track during the weekends for me due to the many BBQ's friends throw, plus football! I love me some chili cheese fries! We always snack during the games so that kills me sometimes. Plus all the alcohol flowing! I've been trying to keep it in check lately. Started to…
