  • THIS is a delicious crock pot recipe that everyone loved and was great for leftovers: http://www.plainchicken.com/2012/01/slow-cooker-cream-cheese-chicken-chili.html (I left out the black beans since none of us like them.) When I put it in the recipe calculator with the ingredients I used, it came out to 5 servings with…
  • Exactly. We live under the new covenant that Jesus created with God when he died for our sins. That got rid of the old covenant with all of the Old Testament laws that people love to quote and ask why we don't follow those. And basically all you are supposed to do under Jesus is love your neighbor as yourself and follow…
  • I eat a bowl of instant oatmeal with unsweetened almond milk and protein powder every single morning. It's quick and easy, and is the only healthy breakfast other than something with eggs that will fill me up. I just don't have time in the morning during the week though to make eggs, so I stick to the oatmeal.
  • I think that's a little uncalled for and a pretty big sweeping generalization, which I think is more rampant among the stupid.
  • I agree with this. I do not like religion and labeling and it was many years before I was able to realize that these things are different than faith and your belief in God. I've finally found a church and friends who don't care about the religious aspect and try to just live in the "love others" aspect and try to be good…
  • Have you thought of just having some kind of blessing ceremony for your children? Have them blessed/christened when they are born and then give them the choice to be baptized when they are older? The Greek word "baptizo" means "to immerse, submerge," so I'm sure some sprinkling of water on the baby's head would not count…
  • If it's going to create conflicts in the relationship or create conflicts and differences of opinion with raising children, I think it's a bad idea. I'm a Christian, and my fiance had always identified himself as "agnostic." When we had our pre-marital counseling with the pastor at my church and my fiance talked to him…
  • Like others have said, try upping your calories. I hit a plateau and was stuck at the same weight for an entire month - was eating 1390/day and exercising (and eating exercise calories back). I finally upped mine to 1600/day and began losing steadily week after week. (Don't pay attention to my ticker because I got sick…
  • I always think of that part when people talk about getting perkier boobs. "We better, we better, so we can wear a sweater!!!"
  • I don't count daily housework as exercise, however - if I have a weekend where I do a super-duper deep clean and am legit cleaning for a solid couple hours or something that is out of the norm, I'll count that as "light cleaning" under my exercise. It's not very often though that I count it. Lol! Good way of looking at it,…
  • YAY! Thanks for starting this! I've had the 30DS DVD for about 3 years now and have started it several times, but have never made it past 10 days in. I have ALWAYS wanted to do the entire 30 days, so I'm making it a point to do it for April! (I will be starting it April 1 though.) I always wear tennis shoes when I do it -…
  • I actually hung my vision board smack dab in the middle of the kitchen wall because it wasn't doing me any good leaning up against the wall on the floor in the bedroom out of sight. It has motivational quotes on it, inspirational "before" and "after" pictures, my list of personal goals for this year, and my monthly workout…
  • First off, you look GORGEOUS in that picture - what a transformation. Second, MFP figures weight loss into the daily calories they give you. So you could stick to those calories and still lose without working out. If you work out, you should eat back you exercise calories. (Honestly, I'm usually unable to eat back ALL of…
  • That's awesome!!! I always love the "if every day were like today" thing, but I never think to go back and check.
  • Wow, can definitely tell a difference - great dedication! You can definitely tell in your stomach, your arms look more defined, and not that I was specifically checking it out, but your butt looks smaller and more lifted too!
  • ^ This. Sounds catty, but when someone is climbing up on their "holier-than-thou" soapbox, I remember that they're on this site to begin with and that means they don't know and practice everything they speak. Then I move along and hang out with my cozy friends list of nice people who are just trying to lose weight and…
  • Not just Catholics observe Lent. I'm giving up "spiritual laziness." Going to church every Sunday during Lent, with a daily Lent devotional. I'm also considering fasting just at noon (not eating lunch) and doing my devotionals then instead of eating.
  • I've always paid for everything in the weddings I've been in - dress, shoes, hair, etc. I spent $180 on a super ugly dress a few years ago. -.- I'm getting married in January and we're paying for the suits/dresses for our wedding party. (They will be responsible for shoes, etc.) We though are getting married in Florida…
  • I'm 26 and still think this!!!! Haha! And I've been afraid of deer since I was a kid. When I was little, my cousin and I were in the car with my aunt one night on a back highway when she hit a deer. It flew over the top of the car and wasn't completely dead, because it staggered off back into the woods. My only memory of…
  • Pinterest is amazzzzzzing! I use it for tons of stuff - kid ideas, wedding planning, food, crafts, holiday decs, etc. I also have a fitness board - you can definitely get a lot of inspirations quotes and pictures, as well as healthy recipes and workout sheets. bahalter86@gmail.com if you want to follow me!
  • We've been thinking about this too...EVERY wedding we've been to lately has had an awesome, fun, party song for the wedding party to come in to. I've been thinking "Magic" by B.O.B., since my fiance and I both love that song, but I'll have to listen to a few of the other ideas in this thread.
  • Um, I'm pretty sure we should form a Beauty & the Beast-scene mob with all the MFP villagers and go stone the slutty wenches! And bring the magic mirror so they can see their whorish selves while they're being stoned.
  • Once I reach my fitness goals, I'll probably just walk around nekkid. And not to get all feminist, but my body isn't my fiance's. It won't be when we get married either. My body is mine. If I'm wearing a bikini, it's because I'm proud of the body I worked and sweated and cried for, not because I'm a floozy or don't have…
  • Bahahaha! Love it!
  • This thread just made my day. Regardless of what really happened, the "best" explanation he is trying to give us is that two grown men with children are hacking into each other's online accounts and posting stuff about being gay and asking for nude pictures. And then explaining all of it with an overuse of explanation…
  • Wraps - I do whole wheat tortillas or pita pockets with cut up turkey or chicken, mustard, and spinach. Low-fat mozzarella cheese sticks, pretzel sticks, cut up raw veggies. Tuna lettuce wraps. Make up a batch of tuna salad and have a container of already separated and dried lettuce leaves. Extremely low-calorie too!
  • I always thought men were the disgusting sex until I worked as a leasing agent during college at my apartment complex. We would have to clean out abandoned apartments or conduct checks - some of the women who lived there (and this was a really nice, expensive complex) lived in the foulest conditions you could imagine. In…
  • I was going to suggest this blog! Definitely check it out for great ideas for packing lunches.
