I know someone who does the same thing. In fact she competes (& usually has trophies to show). Check out BonyCastro. As for me, I do the diet & exercise (running & cycling) to keep track of my weight, micros & macros.

My name is Dan. I have several Canadian friends on here and on FB who are truly dear friends. I've traveled to Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto and met some of them and had a freakin' blast. I'm running the Scotiabank Toronto marathon next October, so that'll be another fun trip.

Salmon's beauty beyond its taste and texture is its versatility. I usually grill it, but it's great oven-roasted also. Best marinades have either dill or herbs de Provence as a main ingredient. Great for you too.

I do direct patient care in a cardiac surgical unit.

It's called "shunting" and occurs in other stressful situations that occur in the body. Blood is diverted to organs of highest priority such as the brain, lungs and heart muscle. You've all heard of the "fight or flight" response, right? It has something to do with this concept, although not entirely. During endurance…

"...he will run for a bit, then get excited like "OMG WE'RE RUNNING!!" and then run in front of me and trip me." My boys are Dachshund brothers. They LOVE to get out there and sprint. They can go longer, but too much might not be good for their short legs. I do run with them for as long as they can go. Gotta keep 'em…

Been doing Spin/RPM for a while now. Was instructor for a short time, but my work schedule was too busy. Thinking back on all the good advice you already got, keys to remember are proper bike fit, drink lots of water, listen to your body, the music is there to enjoy and be able to maintain a pace. Hope you get something…

Very inspirational. I gotta get it together and just do it. I keep meaning to. Your detailed account of conquering the mile markers made it seem so....do-able, so real. Big heartfelt congratulations go out to you, girl.

WTF is going on here?!

I also do them during HIIT training. It's not how many, but how many I can do in a set amount of time. Then you go on to something else and before you know, it's time for Burpees again. And yer like..."I can't believe it's time to do these again," and you do as many as you can with vim and vigor.

Gotta continue to enjoy living life. Someone else said, you'll gain, but if you keep up your cardio and exercise routine, you're not going to blow up into Gilbert Grape. A few people had good little tidbits of advice, like eating some before drinking and eating smaller portions. Above all, have a good time with your…

Ah Mah God! This is everything I was ever looking for. Thanks so much for this. I feel improvement already. Thanks again, Dan

Hi, Stoshew71, I'm new to your challenge, but pencil me in for 60. And thanks! Dan

Here in Virginia Beach, VA, we have an annual RnR Virginia Beach HM & FM. Well supported, great fun. Great shows. Do it up, it's a good time!

I never cease to be amazed by great runners. I envy many of them and they're some of my MFPeeps. Freakin' awesome today.

I agree with the previous comment that HRM's won't be that accurate for work. That situation would be more suited to a fitbit or another device like that. HRM's batteries usually only last as long as a triathlon or marathon cut-off time is. For instance, my watch battery cut out (after being fully charged) after 6 hours on…

“I hit the wall hard. I don’t think I fueled properly.” Translation: “I went out too fast.” “I don’t know what happened.” Translation: “I went out too fast.” “I was on pace for the first twenty miles, but then I hit the wall. Training wasn’t great. I’ve been battling an injury. And I just got over being sick. Guess it all…

Hell no! Wore undies once and paid the price. Miserable memories. Spandex shorts or bib with chamois padding is all you'll need.

I ran a 1:58 HM last year. Will continue to strive for 1:50 range. Will train for my first FM late summer or early fall. Cycle more. That kinda took a back seat to running last year.

So well said.

Agreed. I have a core group of people who I support and support me. But yea, I agree, some people are just into collecting friends so they can collect compliments for their egos, it seems.

I tried that recipe, but I used a super honey that I get. It was out of this world. Thanks for sharing that. Dan

Couldn't open that. But I can hear your glee when you talk about your amazing progress. Good for you.
