Down 3.2 in 2 weeks... and my scale came today so I will be able to weigh in now and track my progress reliably!! hooray! it also measures body fat, and mine is at the cusp of "moderate" and "high", so i have work to do there... this semester ends in a week and then i will have tons of time to work out!!…

i finished week 4 day 3 of the couch to 5k today! i am very excited :) also i ordered a scale/body fat measurer that should come tomorrow, so i am psyched to have something that will track my progress reliably! sorry to hear people are sick... get well soon and enjoy the weather!!!

if you have never run before i suggest the track (and to get good new running shoes) because your legs aren't used to it and you may get shin splints (but the track and new shoes will help prevent that). i am just finished week 4 day 3 today!! you can do it!!!! smile smile smile

http://exercise.about.com/od/abs/ss/abexercises.htm this web site is great, i suggest switching up your routine every few weeks and you'll be happy with the results in a couple months, but will start seeing a change in a week or two!

lean meats, and then lots of fruits and veggies - they fill you up fast! i also like hummus and couscous with pitas (maybe with cucumbers or something too), which is extremely filling and low-cal. its also all about portion size... have your favorite foods but in smaller quantities - and then have fruits or veggies to…

Hey guys... thought I'd start the thread today. I'm going for day 1 week 4 of the couch to 5k today! I'm also going to buy new running shoes! I'm really excited for that because my current sneakers are super beat up, I hope the new shoes help! Any tips on which ones to get?

I am trying to finish by midmay, so I have to go at a bit faster pace than the weeks say, so hopefully it…

Thanks! today I did 2 miles total, running for 1.5... I think I'm just going to see how it goes because I feel pretty good about setting my own weekly goals since I have already started. i definitely need to get new shoes though... i already have blisters from my old ones and i can tell they are worn down...

hi, im new to MFP and am just starting to run. Today I ran about 3-4 miles, but am still walking at intervals in between. Thinking of taking up the couch to 5K. is it better than just pushing yourself? also, any running tips would be great - i really have no idea what I'm doing but im loving it so far.

thanks for all the help guys!

Thanks!! Good luck to you to!

I do eat whole wheat pasta, and it does fill me up quicker than regular, although it is the same amount of calories (but I eat less of it, generally). I have a really hard time controlling portions when I really want something, so I try to fill up on other foods during the day. But, like I said I eventually cave and eat a…

Hi, I'm Jess and I'm new to MFP... I have been trying to lose weight for what seems like my whole life - my mom is obese so it has always been a big issue in my house. I have about 30 pounds to lose, and I really hope this site will be the inspiration I need to finally do this right!

I CRAVE both pasta and pizza constantly, and haven't been able to find a low-cal solution to curb the cravings. I control myself for a while, but eventually I give in and "fall off the wagon". Any suggestions of food items that curb the cravings for tons of carbs?
