Hiya,

I can’t seem to eat under 1500 calories a day. It seems impossible since my trainer wants me to eat 6 times a day starting with a decent Breakfast. I have cut out soda and the only time I drink anything but water is a little bit of juice with dinner. I hate fish and I am a meat and potatoes kind of gal with the added flaw of a sweet tooth. I read a post about a girl who couldn’t figure out how to eat at least 1400 calories; I would have to eat celery sticks all day long to get less than 1400 calories. LOL Anyways any suggestions on how to bring down the calorie count while not feeling like I am starving myself would be great. Thanks!

lean meats, and then lots of fruits and veggies - they fill you up fast! i also like hummus and couscous with pitas (maybe with cucumbers or something too), which is extremely filling and low-cal. its also all about portion size... have your favorite foods but in smaller quantities - and then have fruits or veggies to supplement!

    hope this helps :)

Veggies are low in calories, can eat quite a few before you're calories start really adding up.
My day today is 1,195 calories and I had half a cup of milk with 3/4 of a cup of vanilla almond special K
for lunch I had a can of campbell's vegtable soup
supper is going to be two small lean ground beef hamburgers on the grill so that as much fat as possible is drained out, eating them with mustard and ketchup on wonder + buns
snacks are an apple, pack of sunkist gummies, half of a rice crispie square, and 30 red grapes!

today was a good day, and then I have some where I eat 1,600 calories... as long as I burn them off and don't always have days where I eat that many, I don't worry about it :) Good luck hope that helps

If you know Zonya Foco, she says that if you eat a piece of fruit every four hours, your sweet cravings will disappear. It is actually true, after eating my fruits and vegies for weeks now, I don't crave the sweets--I will want to eat them if I see them but I don't crave and desire them like I used to. As far as eating within your calorie allotment the biggest thing I like about tracking my intake is that I see what works and what doesn't. I was amazed at first how low in calories Vegetables are--no wonder they are zero points in weight watchers. Fruits are higher in calories but when combined with the fiber keep you full longer. So here is what I like to do. I watch my fruit and vegie intake, in full honesty more than I track calories. I sometimes make myself a banana orange strawberry smoothie with flax seed--yummy!! (approx, 200 cals) I just take the fresh banana and orange and blend adding 4-5 frozen strawberries. The other big thing is to make sure you have your fiber intake high--the site recommends 15 for me but I tend to get up to 26 grms of fiber a day. This will keep you full and regular!! I also will make myself an egg white omelet either with egg beaters or one egg and two egg whites--I saute a orange or red pepper chopped and then pour in the eggs, add a little cheese or have with out and put a tomato on the side--add a piece of high fiber toast and you are set, perfect for any meal of the day. Good luck, really I think the biggest challenge is to keep the good food around you and the bad food away!! If you don't buy it and bring it home you won't eat it.

Great suggestions! I'm doing a VLCD but I can't wait to have my fruits and veggies!
