this was truly incredible to read, congratulations!!

real 'toning' exercises come in the form of heavy weights.

cold and rainy? I would opt for hot tea and a book

No I'm not, do you think I should? And excellent, that makes sense. thank you :)

Ahh distance wise? I would say the treadmill is accurate. It's a machine that knows exactly what speed you're running at and how long for. I can imagine the inaccuracy from your Garmin was due to the run being on the treadmill, rather than outside. If you're running in a steady place, how would it know your distance? Maybe…

anyone?

I had exactly the same problem on friday! My advice to you would be to give yourself one day, just commit to one day of sticking to your eating plan. You'll find the momentum building the following day and it'll be easier to get back on track ♥ We can do this!!!

You're recovering from an eating disorder- restricting again on purpose is absolutely a bad idea. Enjoy your birthday and get back into healthy eating the day after. No need to eat significantly less on other days. Please, please don't. It can start a snowball of unhealthy behaviour again

I see a pretty noticeable change in your stomach. You've lost some fat around your hips for sure, and you've for sure lost inches around your waist. Can't believe you can't see that! lol

I've found that just one good day after a binge can set the momentum going in the right direction. So if you're feeling particularly horrible after a binge, just focus on achieving that one healthy, binge free day and you'll often find yourself in a much better mind set :)

That depends- are you using what mfp has calculated for you, or the tdee approach? If you're going off the numbers that my fitness pal gave you, yes you log the exercise and eat back the calories burned.

we are all here to offer you support :) take it one day at a time, you've got this!

great thread! I find another thing that helps me is setting yourself up for success- this for me, means planning for the next day and making it as easy as possible on myself. After a binge, I'll usually plan my meals out for the next day, wash all the dishes and basically just get rid of anything that might remind me of…

last night I binged. albeit it was quite a small binge, but a binge nonetheless. My dad and I went to see a late night movie. Before I left, I had already had all my calories for the day and had dinner. I managed to avoid all the theater foods but when I got back home, I found myself eating slices of toast, some chocolate,…

I am 5'6' and 119 pounds- I went for a 90 minute walk today, very brisk with decent hills and my heart rate monitor said I burnt 470 calories. Either yours is inaccurate or your heart rate is abnormally high; I reiterate seeing a doctor just to be absolutely certain it's related to your level of fitness and not something…

Does it have to be indoor? You could always try circuit training that gets your heart rate up, to burn calories. Though it's not strictly cardio. For bad knees, my biggest recommendation would be swimming which is an excellent cardio workout. But, not indoors..

I think this is a great idea! Posted up a thread for this http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1169162--challenge-had-a-binge-post-a-recount

I completely understand....it's almost impulsive, you eat until your way past full...and then come back later and keep eating.. Keep your head up ♥ As of yet, I don't have the will power not to impulse eat when I'm in the kitchen, so after dinner, I avoid the place like the plague.

about 4 pounds here, which is already gone. I imagine half of that was water weight, since it disappeared so quickly.
-
I would say lightly active absolutely with your walking. However, if you're that concerned, you can opt for sedentary and simply eat back all or a portion of your exercise calories as you see fit.
-
that's excellent. Portion control is something I am trying to work on too- learning to listen to my body when it's full and be able to distinguish legitimate cravings from disordered thoughts. also I invited those who asked :)
-
I used to do this too! I think preparing meals the night before is the way to go. Or else, having very quickly made meals. Usually I will quickly grill some salmon with some salad/veggies. If your dinner is ready relatively quickly, you'll be less inclined to snack while waiting for it to cook and you can fulfill those…

Invited you all, overwhelmed with how much interest the group is getting. it's pretty awesome :) I can absolutely relate to night eating syndrome, I do the exact same thing.
-
So happy to hear that everyone had successes one way or another! I totally agree about keeping with the accurate logging- almost scares you straight! lol
-
You've all been invited!
-
a night shift would be tough I imagine. But great job on the chocolate this week!
-
My most powerful triggers are at night time- after I've finished my dinner I just have this crazy strong urge to snack...and snack and snack until it turns into a binge. I'm pretty sure it's habitual (from coming home stressed from uni) so I'm currently trying to replace it with healthier habits!

Hey guys, sorry I have gone through and invited everyone! We have a group and some topics up, so yes it's still ongoing :) I apologise, I don't get notifications when someone posts on the thread so I actually lost the thread there for a bit. I hope I didn't miss anyone and thanks for all the interest, hopefully it's…

-I like engrossing myself in a book for an hour or two, usually until I find the urge has passed -I also like to do maybe a 20 minute or more yoga video from yogajournal.com, which relaxes me and makes me think clearly :) -Having a shower! I dunno, something about cleaning myself up pushes me away from the discomfort I…

I love both the idea of a trigger and distraction thread!
