I wear a polar heart rate monitor. I still only eat part of exercise calories back. I don't think there is an 100% accurate tool.

I do a class where there are various exercises, alternating variations of jumping jacks, mountain climbers, bosu burpees, jumping jacks. We do 8 rounds of 30 seconds with 10 sec walking in between. The instructior mixes it up every week.

I exercised before I lost weight. I lost the first 20 lbs with just watching my diet. However, the last 30 lbs and the biggest body difference was after I started weight training. I like having muscles. I want to be strong and fit as I get older. Plus the exercise lets me blow off some of the stress from work.
