Scanning bar codes

I thought I saw a way to scan foods but now I can't find it. I googled it and it said there is a blue bar code beside the search box but I don't see it on my iphone.

  When you are in the "Add to Diary" section of the App, there is a barcode symbol on the bottom right of the screen. Very simple!

  I see the bar code scanner, on the meal and at the top. In the technical section, there is a board on frequently asked questions. I read it to figure out how to use it.
