You can also freeze avocado slices. When they reach their best it can be a struggle to eat them all at once. So just peel and slice and add to a freezer bag with a little lemon juice and freeze. You can then use them for guacamole and smoothies. Jimmy Moore recommends deep fried avocado. Just slice and fry off in butter or…

I feel like i have worked my way through every low carb support forum there is and this is a pretty good one. Been low carbing for about 10 years and i have found that low carbers are the most level headed and not really as gung ho as they perhaps should be! its that laid back ketosis high that makes us so relaxed and damn…

Wow here in the UK we get single or double and that's about it. Oh actually you can add clotted cream which is about as close to butter as cream can get before becoming butter...whipping cream, sour cream, creme fraiche - yep we've got a few variations too!

Thats about what mine came up with too. Pretty tricky to get MFP to correlate with that though as they only have either 5% or 10% carbs. I need it to say about 7%. I just adjusted the calories (cause they are not really important anyway) until the macros were as close as possible. Ended up with 1600 cals and fairly close…

Totally agree with all of the above. My dermatitis in my scalp and behind my ears only flares up when i eat too much sugar and wheat. it takes a few weeks of eating poorly for it to show and the same of eating well for it to go. I also have those arm bumps and put it down to not enough fat in my diet. As soon as i add in…

70 fat 10 carbs 20 protein the ideal diet to limit insulin production and fat storage. Works incredibly well to limit hunger and reduce appetite. All foods need to be natural and not processed.

gallbladder disease is caused by a lack of fat in the diet - leading to the gallbladder not being stimulated often enough to produce enough bile to wash away cholesterol deposits (which are perfectly normal and healthy). Anyone on a low fat diet and loses weight is chancing gall bladder disease (I know because I had mine…

There are many people on this forum who are not informed on ketosis. I recommend it for weight loss, heart health, diabetes control and avoidance and most of all - you just feel better and can stick to it long term. Please please please do some serious research. it is very healthy and involves eating high fat, moderate…

I don't count calories but count carbs instead. I stick to about 20% carbs or around 50-70 grams a day. This means I can have around 1800 calories a day without putting on weight. (sometimes more) I am maintaining after losing nearly 50 pounds. I have been maintaining for 2 months successfully. We don't need to count cals…

I tend to go for about 20% carbs, 30% protein and the rest fat. I have maintained my BMI at 23 for the last 2 months doing this after losing nearly 50 pounds. low carb and high fat works long term and is very heart healthy. I never eat sugar or carbs (aside from vegetables). I adjust the percentages myself as MFP work on…

Simple answer - none...this includes carbohydrates. if you count your carbs and stick to less than 50 grams, I bet you will control your blood sugars easily. By the way - if you doc has told you to eat low fat - ignore him...and the ADA advice. just my two cents...

true, sodium can have this effect, but so can sugar. Your body could have stored water due to carbohydrate reload. if you had low levels of carbs (due to your dieting) you may have retained water when you upped your carb level.
