  • Sizes aren't what they used to be and I find sizing varies by designer and manufacturer.
  • I'm not planning to wean myself off MFP. In the past I stopped logging and gained weight back. This time I'm at goal (actually below) and continue using to log. First Tim I've maintained a goal weight for 5 months after reaching it. Logging keeps me honest.
  • My weight loss slowed down around the 8 month mark. I increased my exercise and was able to lose what I thought was my last 30 pounds. In trying to figure out maintenance I lost an additional 15 pounds over the next 3 months. Like the above post said I really had to analyze what I was eating and my exercise routine. I made…
  • Congratulations on a successful weight loss. I don't have any personal experience with the lifts and tucks but friends have said it's worth it even though there was pain.
  • If you don't have food scales get a pair and start weighing your portions out, chew you food until it's mush, put down your fork between bites and don't drink with meals. You're off to a good start by counting calories and walking.
  • Congratulations! You look great and I'm happy you feel great.
  • Welcome and congratulations on making changes to get healthy.
  • Is there a difference at the end of the day with the density of your food. To answer your question. I don't believe I can hold more at different times of the day. At home, which is where I eat most diners I use my food scales so I never test the volume. It took me 13-14 months to get to a 'normal' BMI for my height. I was…
  • Carbs are my kryptonite and I can't have them. If I have to many I crave more of them so I do my best to control my carbs. I try to limit sweets to a spoonful from somebody else's plate. I know I can't have my own dessert physically I just can't do it so I leave them alone. I see people who can control their carb intake by…
  • June goals: Continue to maintain my goal weight Keep exercising Appreciate my sleeve Track my food
  • I went through the same thing I thought I wanted food I actually think I just wanted something to chew.
  • Texas sleeve' here.
  • I agree with the above posters you should save some calories for night. You can also try having a snack between lunch and diner and pushing your diner back until 7 or 7:30. I'm a year out and I can tell you that night time snacking stays in place. I usually have a few almonds or hot tea nearly every night.
  • Refried beans, ricotta cheese with mashed banana, cream soups, pureed squash, and yogurt. You'll need a combination of some things you can eat warm and others you can eat cold. My stomach preferred everything at room temperature so my foods consisted of things that didn't need to be hot or cold. Enjoy the soft food stage,…
  • Looking back on my food log at 6 weeks I was eating banana's, refried beans, steamed broccoli, tuna, rice crispy's cereal (not sure why), crab and tuna salad, sweet potato's, salmon, eggs, squash, mashed potatoes, cream of chicken/mushroom soup. It didn't look like I was doing any real cooking because I can't find the name…
  • I'm at a stage of weight loss I knew was coming but I'm surprised now that I'm there. I'm working on maintenance of my goals have changed. 1. Maintain my weight loss. 2. Learn how many calories work for maintenance 3. Continue my exercise habits I learned during the last year of weight loss 4. Support friends still losing…
  • I've lost 100 pounds and my neck has aged. I wish I would have appreciated it when it was young and smooth. However, I'd much rather have lost the 100 pounds than died of some weight related illness where people would have said, damn she died from being over weight but look how good her neck looks.
  • You are doing so good and look wonderful.
  • Congratulations... you look picture perfect
  • I was told not to exceed 800 calories per day until I got to my goal weight. I'm there now and it was tough. I had to preplan every bite that went into my mount. On the days I went over I exercised off the surplus calories. I also thought it was too few calories but I will have to admit the dietitian was right. I'm at my…
  • I'm 11 months post opt and I can eat chicken. I have to chew it the required 30 times. If I don't chew it well it's like swallowing a golf ball and creates an uncomfortable pressure. I was probably 8 months out before I started having baked chicken, prior to that time it was ground turkey/chicken/beef.
  • Jen312 - Great question and I'm wondering the same thing. I'm 11 months post opt and I eat between 800 - 900 calories per day, protein between 70-80 grams. I'm down 94 lbs and 1.7 pounds from my goal weight. I am walk every day using my Fitbit everyday to get my 10,000 steps in. I currently do not go to the gym and…
  • Thank you all for sharing your struggles. One of my biggest fears is regaining the weight I've lost. I am still in the weight loss phase but only a few pounds away from my goal weight. I have a great dietitian and she suggested I make a 1 year plan for maintenance, which includes, goal setting, logging my food, and…
  • I'm so sorry you're having issues. Did you introduce anything new to your body during this pre-opt phase, new protein, vitamins, etc? Please give us an update and let us know you're doing well.
  • You did a great job in just being 'you'.
  • Abetterca, It's not an easy decision between the full gastric bypass or sleeve. My doctor helped me to decide which was best for me based on my pre surgery weight and weight loss history. Together we decided the sleeve would be best for me. In answer to a couple of your questions. I'm 6 lbs away from my goal weight of 145,…
  • Congratulations Angie.. I would take the four weeks if you've been approved for the time off. I went back after 2 weeks (I was bored) and although it was doable I wish I had taken more time. I went to work then I went to bed for the first 2 weeks after returning to work. It was hard getting all my fluid in after going back…
  • December goals - 1. Get exercise in daily 10,000 steps per day 2. Stay within my allowed calories 3. 60g of protein per day 4. Support others on the weight loss journey and those working on maintenance 5. Be happy every day
  • I didn't have nausea but I struggled with the shake like protein drinks. I finally opted for Nectar protein mix, 100 calories for 23g of protein. It's a water like protein mix and was much easier for me to drink. I would use the timer on my phone and sip every 10 minutes. I think but I'm not sure dehydration can cause…
