  • If it is your first 1/2 marathon, the goal is to complete.
  • hill repeats and speed drills. push yourself on your speed drills. make sure you don't run everyday. you need to take breaks in the week so you can recover your muscles. just keep going
  • The fat free greek yogurt has 18g of protein per serving but the higher fat ones don't.
  • sometimes the more expensive ones have higher protein so you don't need as much. I don't know about the protein in the brand that you bought however I noticed the protein level is higher in some greek yogurts than others
  • The cost does even out. I only buy one 500g container/week whereas the other types, I bought 2, 750ml containers at 1/2 the price.
  • This happens to me when I forget to relax my shoulders. Think about your shoulders!
  • Everybody can run. You have to remember that it's not about running for long when you start, it's just about actually doing it. I didn't do the C25K program however, I got a dog. I started running because of her and 3 years later, she completely refuses to run on a leash. I think I pushed her too far and it wasn't fun…
  • Everybody at the pool is there for exercise. I used to be a lifeguard and honestly, the thought of judging someone because they were big never entered my head. Think about all the people who aren't there. Who cares what size you are, you are moving and becoming healthier. The same thing goes for running, the people who are…
  • The half-life of a drug is the amount of time it takes for the amount of drug in your system to be reduced by half. It refers to the length of time that the drug takes to leave your system.
  • Effexor does work well. If you do spend a lot of time sleeping make sure you tell your doctor. When I first went on it I slept all of the time and I was always tired. It does help with anxiety though. If you need it, take it. You can always come off of it when you are feeling better. I know the withdrawl may be unpleasant…
  • I have been on them for 7 years now and am just coming off.
  • I am just coming off of the effexor wellbutrin cocktail. It has been 5 days since I cut my effexor in half and I have so much energy but then I crash. I craved water for a few days and today I seem to want to eat everything in sight (and I did). I hope this craving stage is easier tomorrow. I just couldn't get enough salt.…
  • I don't have any food before 5k. I run first thing in the morning. I do have 2 cups of coffee and 2 glasses of water and make sure I use the toilet before I leave. Sometimes you do just have to stop. Once you find the food/drink combo that works for you stick with it. When I do a long run, I eat 2 pieces of fruit…
  • Thanks. I've had a hard time trying to figure out what to eat after my LSD so that I'm not starving the next 2 days. I will definately read the page and take your advice. I have had a hard time finding info on this on the internet.
  • Hello everyone! I am currently a student. I started running about 2 years ago. I started with my puppy but she quickly quit running when I stopped needing walking breaks and started going faster and farther. I am training for my 2nd half marathon on May 27. I like the 1/2 distance and training isn't overly time consuming.…
  • Maybe he is not aware about how much it hurts you. You probably say to him that you don't like it in the moment (I realize I am speculating) but it is really something you should address not right in the moment. Bring it up some other time and actually express to him that it hurts. You can't control what he does when he is…
  • Runner's World has a whole article about why you should eat the entire egg! All of the egg's nutrients are in the yolk.
  • Thats ok. It all comes out in the wash. Last week I ended up only 17 calories over. It's not such a big deal and I still lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks, which is AWESOME! In the past 3 days I have doubled my calories intake twice. I think that Monays are the worst days for me because I have a long slow distance run on Sundays and I…
  • I have Old Navy running pants and I love them. They can go in the dryer, which is great for sportswear and they are inexpensive so if you have to buy a new pair you don't have to spend too much money.
  • Thanks! I appreciate the encouragement
