Slice them thinly and put in a slow cooker for 8-10 hours. They carmelize well (you can add a tablespoon or two of butter or coconut oil) and a little salt. Then you can freeze them in small portions.

They have a lot of protein, antioxidents and omega3s. Plus, they absorb liquid so you feel full longer and help with it going through to "the other end!"

I have the "women's 16kg from DD. My trainer is jealous - she wants one too. I can snatch my 12kg - but only recently started to seriously work with my 16kg. I can swing it, but not snatch, maybe some day!

Thanks so much. Your prayers are definitely working!

I much prefer to guage on how my clothes fit.

I would imagine it could slow your metabolism, and with too few calories in you probably woudn't have enough energy to exercise hard enough.

I din't go to confession for YEARS - it's the only part of my conversion that "didn't take." About 2 years ago, my priest encouraged me to go every month, which I have done. It wasn't until last month that I felt truly forgiven (though I realize each time I have gone, I have been.)

IF you place them on a cookie sheet, in a single layer and then put them in the freezer for a few hours, you can then put them in a ziplock back and they won't stick together!

I like to eat out too. We're eating out a lot less lately, so I have more control over what I'm consuming. Plus, my food usually tastes lots better too!

I do something called MELT - it's done with a foam roller. There are a few videos on youtube and the website is meltmethod.com.

I highly recommend radiantrecovery.com. It is a program and online community for those with sugar addiction.

What a fun group! Totally enjoyed reading all the posts. Started out my 40's by dealing with breast cancer - almost 9 years later I feel great and confident! Let me hair go gray, had lasik surgery last year - no more glasses/contacts - or reading glasses (yet!), more relaxed and loving being a grandmother!

I'm 5'10.5". During high school I was 135 - which I thought was fine - I have a very small frame. I gained 80 pounds with my first preg. and 60 with the second. Both times I was back to 135 by the time my kids were 6 months old. I had a complete hysterectomy at 40 - so instant menopause. Also on meds that are known to…

What about setting mini goals? That way they are more attainable. For example, lose one pound a week. Set a reward for each x number of pounds or inches lost. For example 5 lbs, a new workout top, 10 pounds, new eye shadow or lipstick. I love this quote: "Never reward yourself with food - you're not a dog!" I try to…

Welcome and Happy Easter!

I often make a large batch of lentil soup on the weekend. Then, I have a cup or two for lunch and add whatever protein I have on hand: chicken breast, a can of tuna or salmon, chicken sausage.

I use two wristbands on top of each other for my left hand - my right seems to be ok.

I have done this for a few years. We live outside Washington DC and go to the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (on the campus of Catholic University) on Divine Mercy Sunday. It's a wonderful Novena. Also, if you get EWTN they have it on at 3pm each day.

I did look up fasting in the Catechism, but didn't see anything regarding when to eat the meal.

You would probably like our menu! We get together with our best friends and do a Polish brunch. I make homemade perogies and kapusta. My friend gets REAL kielbasa. I'm going to eat in moderation.

"I stand corrected- but first, WHY WOULD I POST ABOUT RAMADAN IN AN EASTER THREAD? the New Key to Heaven says one meal, not to be taken before noon. I think I was mixing that up in my head with Christmas Eve feasts (my favorite meal of the year) many many fish... and we eat in the evening. I fast on Christmas Eve until the…

Since your inches are decreasing, keep up what you are doing. You are building muscle, which weighs more. Congrats on your successes! I go more on how my clothes feel rather than the scale.

Re: eating after sundown - were you thinking of Ramadan? I've never heard it for Catholics. I like having my meal midday and then halve what I would normally eat for breakfast and snack for my other two eating times. Happy Easter!
