  • When front squatting my coach was urging me go go lower ( I had a horrible range of motion at the time and was not using a target) . I went all the way down...... all the way to the ground. I have also kicked my target out of the way on accident and landed on my rear multiple times while working on wall balls. Fun times....
  • Check out the programming of the box you are looking at going to, as well as other boxes in the area. At my box, we usually do oly 3 days a week where we work from 70-85% of our 1RM. I don't think you would lose strength from doing crossfit.
  • It is that point in my year as a band director that stress just seems to pile on, as we go through preparations for Music Performance Assessment, or festivals. It has seemed that I gain weight or fail to lose every year around this tie just due to stress. I have found that drinking water and making sure to eat ( I went…
  • I have run a good deal of 5k races and just wear the dry wick shirts I have from them with some cheap generic basketball shorts.
  • I was ravenous the first week or two, but after my body adjusted to the exercise and I started eating more protein it went away.
  • It costs places to Affiliate with CrossFit each year. Some places choose not to pay the fee. I would check on your coaches certifications, are they CrossFit Level 1 certified? There is an actual class they are supposed to take and pass in order to be able to coach in an affiliate. If your coach is certified, I wouldn't…
  • Anything with Burpees. The worst one I have done so far was one that had burpees EMOM with 3 or 4 different things to complete as well. I like tire flips and AMRAPS the best.
  • When you run a 5k and think it would be better with burpees between the miles, and you hate burpees.

  • You finished. That was more than you were doing before. Progress doesn't happen overnight, and you should not expect it to, doing so will drive you crazy. Last night there were 3 people working out, one of which was the coach and owner of the box, and one other guy who is just in amazing shape. I finished last, by a lot,…
  • Welcome! This is a great place for encouragement and support! Add me if you like.
  • I just got a Polar FT4, wore it today for crossfit and barely noticed it was there. it has done a great job so far.
  • I have a few of the Nike that I absolutely love. They are made of a compression sport like fabric and hold up well. I use them for CrossFit, which has be doing many different things including running, jump rope, olympic lifting, and tire flips (as a large range of different things) and they hold up well for all of those.
  • My favorite meal from Moe's is a cup of Queso and chips. I have once gotten an early dinner of that for myself, then was called by friends to go out to eat, so I ate a second dinner. I don't even want to think about it. My eating habits have changed and I try to be better about everything I put in my body, to make sure…
  • Larabar are also pretty good. Very few ingredients ( most are under 5 and closer to 3) The Blueberry Muffin tastes just like a real muffin, and actually contains no wheat products.
  • Do it! It is probably the best choice I have made in a while. Find a box and a trainer that will keep your goals in mind and cares about your progress. They can scale everything so that you can do it and get stronger at the same time. It is not making it "easy" but making it doable so that you can develop the skills and…
  • it means bring up my post. It is a way of getting a post to the top of the message board so that more people see it.
  • I just use circuit training as well, but only log the actual WOD time I worked out. I usually log time if we spend time on our power/olympic lifting as well. I always list the WOD in my notes on here, even though I keep my WOD book as well.
  • Congrats! I hope this will be the first of many to come. I started about 2 months ago and I look forward to every WOD.
  • CrossFit. It is amazing. I would get bored running, or just walk. Find a box that will work with you on your level, they can always sub. exercises for things you are unable to do. We have a woman currently working out in a boot. I look forward to every class. It has been great for me.
  • August 2012 after graduating with my MME.
  • I find that the more I have it, the more I crave it. Not having it in the house has been a tremendous help for me. I would go through a few cans in a row when it was around. I have not totally removed it from my diet though, I might have it once weekly. I have just replaced it with water. For this to happen it took me…
  • This is a great community for support and motivation. Feel free to add me, if you like.
  • My Burpees are rather sloppy, and just plan bad. I can't get my feet back in yet, so I have to get up by getting on my knees, which slows the process down a whole lot. I currently have some mad burpee bruises on my knees. I only hate them because I am bad at them. One day I am going to own them.
  • Tracking a WOD is frustrating. To get close, I usually just log it as running for the duration of the WOD, for example a 20 minute AMRAP would be 20 minutes of running. I know it is nowhere near the same thing, or calorie burn, but I figure it is something to log. if anyone has solutions to this issue, I would love to hear…
  • PW 220 CW 219
  • PW 219.6 Cw 220 I know I really need to get back on track. Life just keeps catching up with me and running me over. Here's to taking life back and ruling it!
  • PW 219.8 CW 221 Have not been doing well lately. Life has caught up with me. Jumping back on track NOW!
  • PW 220 CW 219.8 Ok. So.... I lost very little these past few weeks, I seem to have hit a wall. I have been more off track and more busy than usual, and not drinking water like I should. I have also been busier than before. I will have to work harder to make the time to get it all done.
