I use my air fryer for non breaded chicken legs, homemade meatballs, meatloaf, homemade fried zucchini or sweet potatoes. I have never been successful with breading anything--mine always turned out gummy. Homemade egg rolls are great in there too. I don't have a typical air fryer like most have--I have the Big Boss Oil…

I am a type I diabetic on a pump who had gastric bypass surgery in September of 2012. I lost about 110 pounds and was told I was too thin. I gained back about 10 and I was comfortable and very happy in my size 8's. I did fine for about 3 1/2 to 4 years. Maintained the weight loss, logged all my food and exercise every day…

My 6 year "surgiversary" is coming up--9/27/18. My lowest weight was 139 down from 246. I have gained back up to 160 and feel every pound. I felt best at 150 and struggle to get back there. Is that gain my fault? Absolutely. Somewhere along the line, whether it be stress, financial problems, hurricanes and floods,…

Day 13 for me, two of my son, and my daughter in law. I have already lost 11 pounds and only have 10 to go to get back to my goal weight. Each of my sons has lost 20 in 12 days and my daughter in law has lost 18. We're no experts, but have done a ton of research and work with my doctor on this because I am also a type I…

10 days in, no real hunger, eating 3 meals a day, getting the macros in check. Have lost 9 pounds in 10 days. Only have 10 more to go.

Myself and 3 other family members are doing Keto and follow the ratio 70% fat, 20% protein, and 10% carb. So whatever you set your calories at in MFP and set those percentages, you should do well. As long as we keep them in check we stay in ketosis and lose pretty steadily.

I've been on Keto for 10 days and have lost 9 pounds, some of which in the beginning I'm sure was fluid. I bounce around on my ketones from Trace to Large, but still lose. (I have 15 pounds to lose.) Two of my sons and my daughter in law are doing it also and have seen great results. We started using guidelines from an…

My family (4 of us) started the Ketogenic Meal Plan three days ago. I, myself, have already seen a 6 pound weight loss. I'm sure this is mostly water. Today--the 3rd day I achieved ketosis and the ketones are at large. My family and I are focusing on keeping are macros in check--70% fat, 10% carbs, and 20% protein. I am a…

I had gastric bypass in September of 2012. My highest weight was 246 and lowest after surgery was 134 and a size 6. I am up to 158 currently and a size 10. Been struggling after Hurricane Harvey to get those unwanted pounds back off. My diet is far from perfect at the moment, but plans to get back on track are on the way.…

I had RNY in September of 2012 and over the last year have had about a 15 pound gain. My dilemma is that I don't buy the food in my home due to lack of finances (for disability reasons) and the type of food here is definitely not what was purchased in the beginning when I was able to do my own shopping. Also we're trying…

I also went through 4 Fitbit Charges in one year. Between batteries NOT holding a charge for more than 24 hours to the band falling apart, I just gave up and retired my Fitness tracker usage completely. I do miss it. As I am a hearing impaired person, I do not own a cell phone, so many of the trackers are out for me.…

Goals: I am at a loss as to how to reach them any longer. I'm 3 1/2 years post RNY and about a year ago I had to cut way back on my protein because of kidney problems--I am a type I diabetic on an insulin pump. I had reached my goal weight of 134 pounds at about 9 months post op, maintained it for 2 years. Since the kidney…

I went to my seminar in August of 2011 and actually met my surgeon. He was AMAZING and I was immediately impressed (and that's odd for me!) I started my dietitian visits in September of 2011, had to pay for those (they were with his dietitian on his team.) After the 3rd visit--November--I found out that the insurance I had…

While I have seen My 600 Pound Life, I have mostly been disgusted by it. I feel pity for the people going into it who don't seem to have a "handle" on what they need to do nutritionally and most just really aren't emotionally prepared for what is ahead. Very few I have seen have been really successful and made a new,…

I was never on any meds. What are the meds for? I have never had nausea, acid reflux, etc. My surgeon fixed my hiatal hernia during my RNY. I'm now 3+ years post op and still never had any problems. Didn't use any anti nausea or pain meds beyond 2 weeks post op. ????

Well my victories are definitely NOT scale related. I am 3+ years post RNY. I reached my lowest weight two years ago and am currently about 10 pounds heavier. My BMI is mid normal, I am a size 8. I'm good with that, though I do like to see those scale numbers a bit lower. My big NSV is that I joined a gym last April and…

Definitely need to be getting close to 1000 in at 4 months post RNY or VSG. By the time I was at that stage I was probably at 800-900. I am now 3+ years post RNY and most days I am between 1300-1500 for maintenance. I can eat about a cup to a cup or a tad bit over at a sitting. Anything over1500and I see a gain. The 80…

Hope all goes well! I can still remember the morning of mine like it was yesterday! And it was over 3 years ago. What's hard to remember is my life pre-surgery--the things I couldn't do that I can do now! Get ready for a lot of changes! Hope all goes well for you!

I could eat anything after about 3 months. I can eat salad now where I never could pre surgery. I had a lot of digestive problems before my RNY and hernia repair on 9/27/12. At 3 years post op, the only problems I ever have are with carb overload--too many in one sitting--but that may very well be my type I diabetes (sugar…

I have a digital food scale that can measure both grams or ounces, depending on which you choose. It was not expensive. I am 3 years post RNY and I still weigh/measure everything. I was also told to weigh meat after cooking, not before. My scale is used several times a day!

The bloating is from the gases/air pumped in to do the laparoscopy. It goes away with time, walking, etc. Walking is essential because that air needs to come out.

Yes you are so right about how easy it is to gain! I'll be 3 years post RNY on 9/27/15 and over the last year I've seen about 5-7 pounds return. I tend to "forget" all too often that my stomach is small and want to "push it" because it's only one more bite, or wow this tastes good! Fighting like heck to get to get the 5…

Hahaha! And still stuffed after almost 3 years!!!! Mini meals. We need to market 'em!!!

Okay...I am a type I who isn't really trying to lose weight. My goal at this point is to gain strength and to build muscle. I do it through proper cardio and strength training doing reps and sets appropriately. I'm 46, but I was diagnosed when I was 15 and was about 15 pounds overweight at that time and lost by exercise…

I am very confused with this. I have been a type I diabetic for 31 years and have NEVER heard of something this preposterous. PLEASE seek medical advice on this. Playing with the hormone insulin can be deadly. Insulin may be a hormone, but it works to decrease the blood sugar. Sugar, or glucose, in the blood stream is…

Early stages after RNY hair loss and thinning nails are common. I found that no matter how much protein I took in didn't change it. Biotin didn't help either. Time was the key. Use a good shampoo, not over the counter stuff. After the first year post op the hair loss will stop. I'm close to 3 years out now and the hair…

The measurements I posted are for the Charge. Yes, check the website above, but still be careful with the discrepancy between the Large and X-Large.
