No, they really wouldn't.

Ditto. And a good way to tell when my heart rate has increased is when I can no longer get enough oxygen at this pace and I have to start breathing 2 in, 2 out. So I try to keep it 4 and 4 as long as I can because I know once I've gone 2-2 I'm into more of a lactate-threshold area. Also, I tried like hell to breathe in…

Not to disagree with BinkyBonk because I think we're on the same page, but cotton is ok for outer layers. I *always* run in some kind of microfiber undershirt for the exact reasons that BinkyBonk mentions - cotton will get wet and stick to you causing all kinds of unpleasantness. But if you're wearing a compression shirt…

+1 Pre-logging definitely helps me stay on track.

Good, but my point is that you started this thread by trashing yourself for being "fat and yucky" and then defended yourself as being healthy. A lot of people in this thread have said something along the lines of - "it sounds like you're not ready." I think they are right. My (ultimately irrelevant) opinion is that you do…

OP, you need help beyond that available on an internet forum.
-
How does that help OP? OP - you didn't get fat overnight. You're not going to get thin overnight. If you expect immediate results, you're only going to be discouraged.

From that article: "Artificial sweeteners are not digested by the human body, which is why they have no calories." *sigh* It was already hard to take the LA Times seriously....

I'm not stating definitively that he's wrong about warm-ups and cool-downs, but I'd like to see the research that "shows these help greatly with performance and recovery." http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/06/15/when-warming-up-for-exercise-less-may-be-more/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0

LOL yes, people having their TSH levels tested is driving health care costs through the roof... you've nailed it!!!

Wow... just.... wow. A simple blood test that could rule out an underlying health problem is rubbish? OP, you might be eating more calories than you think. Or you might have an underlying health issue. If it were me, I'd get the blood test just to make sure. It's not like you have to cut off a finger to find out.

I'm glad to see this thread hasn't been overrun by people wanting to point out *how* they gained weight rather than *why*, which is what the OP was asking. It's a very interesting question -- if we know overeating can cause health problems, why do we do it anyway? For me, the issue is that I simply love the taste of high…

I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to accomplish. If the only reason you're consuming this caloric monstrosity is to meet some magical 15 minute window of opportunity, I would recommend you just forget it and eat something sensible when you get home. Grilled chicken is a great source of protein. Boneless tenderloins take…

I'm not sure that qualifies as a "protein shake." Less than 20% of those calories are from protein.

Simple doesn't mean easy, that's for sure.

Count calories, exercise as regularly as you can, don't focus on the scale, think long-term.... best of luck.

Stop trying to make fetch happen... it's not going to happen.

This thread is like some kind of Rorschach test for people's insecurities.
