  • How tall are you? 5' 5" How much do you weigh? 161 How much do you want to weigh? 135-140 (up to 145 muscled) How many calories do you eat a day? 1320 net, between 1450-1550 total with exercise cals depending on the day. Do you eat back exercise calories? Yep. If you are trying to lose fat, how is that going for you? And…
  • My husband and I eat one most mornings for work. Never had a problem. Do you normally eat a high fiber diet? If not, easing into it will help...jumping in right away with higher fiber often causes flatulence. Raising your fiber intake by a few grams every few days might work better.
  • This is just awesome - you look great!! Fabulous job...here's to reaching the next goal soon! :-)
  • I always eat mine back...and I've been steadily losing 1-2 lbs per week. I'm not into the "starve yourself" thing - if I'm hungry, I eat. If I eat over my calorie allotment, I workout to bring it back into balance. So far, so good! :-)
  • Go, go, gadget biceps! :-)
  • A 30 minute morning workout is just not ever going to happen for me - I'm a night person through and through, and I actually like working out later (normally around 9pm). I'm awake enough then to actually put a full effort in. So I do my main 30 - 60 min. workouts between 9 and 10pm. I don't have kids, and I workout at…
  • This is what happens to me here and there - and I second her advice. If you're truly craving something in particular, just go ahead and have that thing instead of trying to "eat around" it (work the rest of your calories around it if you can, or toss in an extra workout to offset). Another thing is the types of food I'm…
  • There's a lot of things I won't give up...weekly pizza night being one. Luckily, I've never been much of a candy/chocolate eater, so that stuff is pretty easy for me to stay away from. Cheesecake, on the other hand... ;-)
  • Indeed they do...but all fiber is not the same. :-) Soluble fiber is what I need more of (for more/healthy bile production), so fruit, for sure, but also from oatmeal, flaxseed, lentils, beans - stuff that packs a pretty nutrient-dense punch. And since I just decided to up my intake last week, I wasn't prepared, which led…
  • I'm not familiar with Nourishing Traditions either, but I do try to include healthy "super foods" like coconut oil, honey, flaxseed, etc...and yes, it's very tough to balance "healthy" with calories. I'm trying to add more fiber now, and it's daunting for the same reasons. Last week I was over my calorie budget all week…
  • I was fit all through high school/college - worked at a gym, actually. Then I got a desk job, the weight crept up, and six months before my wedding my now-husband and I did Atkins to get back in shape. And it worked great. Then life happened, and every time I saw my mother-in-law she'd tell me how I needed to eat, and was…
  • I'm actually looking forward to shrinking. I was a B/C before, and now I'm a D/DD. It was fun for awhile, but now they're just heavy and in the way. The grass is always greener though...when I lose 'em, I'll probably miss 'em. *eyeroll*
  • About the only thing I strictly avoid is anything with artificial sugars...and that's because of just how badly they affect not just the way I feel, but the way I think. If I even get a small amount by accident, I'll either feel horrible physically for the next several hours (most sweeteners), or my brain chemistry will…
  • Hey Dolly! Glad you found your way over. Looks like you've already found the food diary...seriously eye-opening, isn't it? The forums have a lot of great info too - I've been lurking/reading a lot. :-) I have the android app on my tablet, which is very convenient too. Might want to put one on your phone if you have the…
