  • Thrift stores and garage sales is where I do my shopping until I reach goal. I have actually gotten some very nice name brand clothes for just a couple of dollars each.
  • If you are truly hungry, then I think 1200 may be too low for you. I upped mine from 1200 t0 1500 because of hunger and lost on average a pound a week without being hungry.
  • I have wanted to throw mine out many times. I think going by clothing is great and will keep you from stressing over daily fluctuations. You might also use a tape measure. Good luck to you.
  • See if there are low cost or sliding fee mental health services available in your area. Until you can get with a counselor please think of those who love you and focus on their love. Set a reasonable daily calorie goal for maintenance, there are lots of calculators out there, and shoot for maintenance. Eat every one of…

  • I feel your pain. I did 1200 for about two weeks and was starving. So I bumped it up to 1500 plus about half of exercise calories and lost 29 pounds. I may be in a plateau now, I haven't lost for about 3 weeks. If you are really hungry on the 1200 then it is not enough. Try the 1500 (weighing and measuring everything) for…
  • Congratulations. I gave up cokes, but I do think they taste amazing. Now I only have unsweet tea or water. I still miss cokes.
  • Don't know where you live, but around here the local health departments have registered dietitians on staff that you can make an appointment with. That would be a good start. Then if they thought you needed a referral to a mental health specialist they could make a referral for you. Good luck.
  • You already have a serious eating disorder. Please get help.
  • Keep the apple. How about boiled eggs as a snack? I also snack on almonds... probably more than I should. Right now I am hooked on frozen greek yogurt bars. 100 calories and taste really good.
  • That is amazing progress. Congratulations.

  • grilled chicken and baked sweet potato is my go to meal. Most places offer it. I also take my own salad dressing in a small bottle and order a side salad. I just have to avoid any restaurants that offer free chips or free bread to have while you are waiting for your food. And buffets are a definite no no.
  • SW 209 LW 184 CW 183.5 One half pound. Weekends are my nemesis. Trying to do better. At least we aren't going to any barbeques this weekend.
  • The peel and eat shrimp and the green pepper steak is what I usually get when trying to be good, but I would have to have at least one crab Rangoon.
  • Happy birthday and congratulations.
  • Yes, mine certainly did. After 25 pounds my bras weren't touching me in the band or cup. So I had to go shopping. I'm okay with where I am now, but I hope they don't shrink much more.
  • You don't have to cut anything out completely. You just need to set a reasonable calorie goal and if you really crave something make allowances for it as long as you stay on your calorie budget for the day. If its a big thing, you might need to average it out for two days instead of one. That is why this diet is working…
  • I have one I bought at Kmart for $20. It is so much easier than measuring. I put my cereal bowl on the scale before I turn it on and then just pour the cereal until it gets to 28 grams. For peanut butter, put the bread on the scale before you turn it on and then just add the peanut butter to the bread until you reach the…

  • How are you getting your exercise calorie totals. I see one day that says you earned 2300 calories from exercise. That would be a whole lot of exercise. I read an article that said a 160 pound person would burn around 2800 calories when running a MARATHON. Be careful to not overestimate workouts or underestimate food…
  • sw 209 LW 184 CW 183.5 Only half a pound. But I know I ate too much last weekend. Will try to do better this weekend. Good luck to everyone. Have a nice week.
  • Now will be a really good time to learn how to cook. Start simple and work your way up. It can actually be fun. Please try to do this the right way. You need to eat enough to fuel your body. Good luck to you.
  • You are amazing. Good job.
  • Depends on your frame. I have been everywhere from 135 - 215. 135 was too skinny. I think my best weight was 155-160. My goal right now is 169, then I will reassess.
  • That's great. Congratulations.
  • Fantastic !!! and congratulations.
  • Sounds like a good supper. As soon as you get home, drink a big glass of water. Then your supper should fill you up. Every day gets a little easier. Hang in there.
  • I generally eat back about half of my exercise calories. A registered dietician told me that she recommends eating them back if you are hungry. If you aren't hungry, don't eat them. Listen to your body.
  • Sweating is a good thing. It gets toxins out of your body. Don't let that stop you. Even if you only walk up and down the hallway of your house or apartment to start with. Weight loss is mostly about the diet. You can exercise more as the weight comes off. Just make up your mind to do it. I wish you all the best in your…
  • Because you have totally screwed up your metabolism. You need to see an RD, but until you do, use an online calculator to figure out what your maintenance calories would be an do that for several weeks and then gradually decrease your calories, aiming for a slow and steady weight loss. Good luck to you.
  • I drink the Atkins milk chocolate. I like the taste and it does get me through to the next meal. Usually, I only have them once a day.
  • With your health issues, the only people you should be asking these questions of are your doctor and dietitian. Good luck to you.
