  • Take those compliments, you deserve them. Losing weight is not easy. It can be hard to stay motivated. I like setting mini goals and giving myself a nonfood treat when I reach them. Like a manicure or a piece of jewelry, whatever you like. Good luck.
  • I agree that the husband is the head of the house. My husband who works hard, brings home his paycheck every week, respects me, keeps the yard up, fixes the leaky faucets and a lot more, deserves to have the food he wants in the house. If he wants the food, I will buy it, but I have to learn to resist it. It makes it…
  • That's fantastic. Have a great summer.
  • I have the exact situation. My husband is losing 1.5 pounds a week, but he is unhappy with that. He keeps saying he wants to lose it faster than that and saying the diet is "not worth it" if he only loses a pound a week. But on the other hand, he admits that he really hasn't been hungry. I suspect he just misses his potato…
  • You haven't lost the game until you stop trying. And part of that 10 pounds is probably water. Get off your pity pony and get back in the game. You can do this.
  • You don't eat veggies because you don't like the taste, Have you thought about trying something like the nutribullet or something else where you can make a smoothie with veggies and fruits. Maybe you could incorporate them that way.
  • I don't care for it by itself. What I do is mash a head of boiled cauliflower and mix that with a package of instant mashed potatoes with garlic. It is really good and you have basically cut the calorie count of the mashed potatoes in half. My husband said if I hadn't told him what it was, he would have just thought it was…
  • I worked for a doctor for about five years. Unfortunately so many people do shop for drugs that they will be suspicious of you if you go in there asking for Adderall. Don't ask for anything, before you go write down all your symptoms and meds that you have taken previously. You say you don't have time for counseling, but…
  • SW 209 LW 190.5 CW 189 I had several people notice that I was losing weight this week, so I guess it is finally becoming noticeable. Let's hang in there and complete our goals.
  • You just aren't seeing it. I have lost 22 pounds and not one person from my office has commented about it. Today I had to go to a different department that I used to work in. Every person that I stopped to talk too was "wow, you have lost weight". They saw the difference because they hadn't seen me in awhile. Take…
  • Losing more than 2 pounds a week is a bad idea.
  • If your TDEE is 1900 then to lose weight your daily calorie goal should be a net of 1520 (80% of 1900) That means 1520 with no exercise. When you exercise you need to eat back at least half of those extra calories. Good luck.
  • Check your kitchen... how much junk food is in there. If it is there, get rid of it. How many meals did she have last week that came from a fast food restuarant? Unfortunately, eating healthy usually means eating at home. More work for you, but great benefits for the whole family. Good luck to you. My daughter was…
  • I saw this on a program just this week. They weren't talking about weight loss. They were saying it is a healthier option because the human body is not designed to sit in a chair. It made sense. I would like to do it at work if I had a way to switch back and forth easily.
  • You have learned well, Grasshopper.

  • Most families had one car (if any). Suzie homemaker cleaned the house, did the dishes, and then walked anywhere else she needed to go to. She walked to the neighborhood market, and carried home a few bags of groceries. She chiseled ice out of the freezer with a pick. She hung the rugs on a line and beat them with a wooden…
  • SW 209 LW 190.5 CW 190.5 No loss this week, but I have been staying under on my calories, so I am expecting to see a loss next week. Please, Please. You guys are doing great. Lets hang in there.
  • You go girl !
  • Geeeez
  • You can do this. It isn't easy. If it was everyone would be slim. I have a problem with bingeing. I cannot keep anything in the house, that will set me off. Get rid of it. Set some reasonable goals and get some MFP friends who will support you. Take it one day at a time. Good luck to you.
  • I worked with a girl who had the best response I have heard. When a client said something about her being pregnant (which she wasn't). She just said "oh, I'm not pregnant, I just had a REALLY big breakfast.
  • IMHO you need to figure out your calorie goal for each day and stay close to that each day. Not over and not under. When you go way under one day, you are going to want to binge the next. You also need to try more real food and less junk food. I'm sure you can lose weight if you stay under calories even if you have fritos…
  • A lot of people will not respond to you because you are supposed to be 18 to use this site.

  • Can you find an exercise partner? That has helped me a lot. When I am ready to blow it off for the night, she calls and says "what time are we going walking" and I am too embarrassed to back out of it. I put on my shoes and off we go.
  • No I don't. But I also don't log pushing a shopping cart through the store, washing the dishes, or sweeping the floor. It all averages out. Good luck to you.
  • Nothing gets my heart rate up like a 70% off sale. Two or three hours walking around the malls also counts for something. Sometimes I log it, sometimes not.
  • Get a pair of jeans or shorts that you can't even get buttoned. Try them on every three of four days. Eventually you will be able to button them (if you hold your breath). Then they will fit a little better. Then they will actually fit. Then you need to find a smaller pair. I did this several years ago and lost over 30…

  • Fantastic achievement. Congratulations.
  • You did the honest thing. You told them. So go ahead and spend the money. A similar thing happened to me. We had a battery go bad that only had a couple months of prorated warranty left. We were supposed to only get like $15 back, but after two employees spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to make it work with the…
  • You beat cancer. You can do anything. It's one day at a time. Good luck to you.
