WTF! I can't believe the gyno didn't care. My GP thought it was weird that I had irregular periods (I still do) but I had a bunch of tests to rule things out- coeliac disease, PCOS, thyroid, low blood pressure. They came back normal and now I'm still being treated as a type ll diabetic with insulin resistance. You're doing…

I also hate this phrase! Ugh yes, I don't think they realise that it HURTS when they say that, even unintentionally. I'm also a Type 2 diabetic/insulin resistant. And welcome to MFP :)

Proper inspiration for people like us. It's your kind of success that helps motivate the rest of us :) Good on you for your lifestyle change! You've done brilliantly!

I'm a pescetarian. I was vegetarian for 4 and a half years before. Nobody else in my entire immediate or extended family is. It's grief at family functions as they usually don't support me in it. That being said I never push my veggie-ism onto them. I'm considering going back to vegetarian. I'm at a crossroad with that..…

My middle name is May. After my mum and my great nana. My niece also has the same middle name :) I don't mind it... Except when some people write my name as Chelsea-May instead of just Chelsea...

Would have to be Fleetwood Mac in my hometown around Christmas time in 2009. Second would be Paramore in March 2010 - their first NZ concert. BUT, I'd love to see: Metallica Evanescence Within Temptation Lamb of God

Ohh, this sounds delicious! As does charshel's version. But as I've never ever seen any Morning Star products where I live, I'll have to find a veg pattie as yummy as the MS one sounds! So will be tweaked but I'm sure it'll taste just as delish :D

Being constantly reminded of my size and compared to friends & cousins by my nana.

After using SparkPeople for nearly 2 years, I found MFP and tbh, I probably wouldn't go back to SP to track, because it's much more easier to find things here, and the variety of food from NZ/Aus is bigger than SP. I do read their articles though, because I like them and I find them interesting, along with their workout…

Hiya :) I'm sorry to hear about your mum. My friend is going through a similar experience with her dad whose the same. I think you should go back to your doctor, voice your opinions and go from there. Perhaps your doc can change your medication. Are you taking metformin, or something else? I've heard about PCOS being rife…

Oh hell yeah! Chips & gravy = heaven

^ This! All of it! And alcohol.. All kinds of the stuff. And pasta, can't get enough of it. I usually don't log my intake most weekends because I'm out with friends, and the last thing on my mind is counting calories! So I try not to worry about it until Mondays. Slack? Yeah. I know.
-
Hmm...Nutella. On anything. And pasta.
-
Oh. Wow... I'm so sorry. If it were that easy everyone would be doing it! That's just so hurtful :( *HUGS*

My parents have been married for 27 years, and I've never ever heard them call each other "hubby" or "wifey." Usually they call eachother by their names, and if my dad ever caught mum calling him "hubby", he'd probably just be like what?
-
Aw, thank you :) :flowerforyou:

Woo! Your progress is awesome, you should be so proud :)

Throughout my childhood my nana constantly reminded me how thin and slim my friends were and how I should look like them. She was always giving me books and stuff to try and get me to go on diets, and a couple years ago she gave me a set of scales for Christmas, and said "maybe when you start losing weight i'll get you…

I was the same. When I was before and during taking Prozac (for depression) I completely lost my appetite and obsessed over food a LOT. I'm not taking them anymore but I still have those thoughts.
-
Awesome :) thanks. I'll definitely have to try them out. I'm very curious as to what these taste like...
-
Hiya :) I'm not new here but I am a kiwi. From Taranaki. That's awesome you've lost 2nd already :) good luck for the rest of your journey! Chelsea

Thank so much everyone, it means a lot. My dad also does this so I guess I'll just have to be firm with them both as well as try to control myself. :)
-
Yip! WELL over 100 pounds for me. At least 150 pounds. At least.

I've been on metformin for nearly 8 years, for insulin resistance. Started at 500mg once a day and am now on 850mg twice a day. Type 2 diabetes is rife in my family, going back to my gg grandma. The main thing I found is that it has made my TOM completely whacked, and the same for my mum (she's on metformin AND insulin).…

I usually go to bed between 10-11pm and am up between 5-6:30am every morning, depending whether or not I have to milk in the mornings. Weekends are always different because I go out a lot then so if I'm out I'm usually in bed by 3am and up at 8amish.
-
No. I do not get annoyed because quite frankly it's none of my business nor is it yours unless they make it.
-
I never said that it was, but simply telling somebody this and that isn't going to change their mindset. Like somebody telling me that I need to eat nearly 2000 calories/day isn't going to make me eat that much. I understand what you're saying, I used to LOVE my food and used to have a good relationship with it. But now,…
-
Anything under 300 cals preferably. But I really just want to try them and see what they taste like to start with.
-
You honesty think those people don't want a healthy relationship with food? Most of them do, myself included. Right now for meit's pretty crap, hell, its been bad for a while, but I know it will get better eventually. And believe me, I won't be using MFP for years and years.
-
It has been, is and will be a struggle for me to accept that. It's a considerable amount compared to what I used to consume, so for now I am happy with it.
