That's what MFP is all about! You can come here, ask for help/advice and, voila! You get it! Check it out...

Well, I guess I mean for everyday use. I generally use only EVOO for everything. I've been looking through some healthy recipe sites and a lot of them call for canola oil. I, of course, never fry so I guess mostly for sauteeing and such.
-
I just had that problem. I went to Tools, then ticker, then I fixed my current weight. I had put in the same weight for current and start weight. Try that and see if it helps.

So wish you were my workout partner! LOL I need a little "*kitten* kicking"!

So feeling where you're coming from. A couple years ago, I had lost about 60 pounds, was running about 5-6 miles A DAY, going to the gym almost every day, doing Pilates (killing that, too!), and I looked better than I ever had...and then my son was involved in an auto accident where he broke his neck. At first, I did good…

OMG! I would have NEVER thought of Cotton Eyed Joe! I gotta add that to my workout playlist!!!! That's why I started this topic! Great ideas! Keep 'em coming please!

That's the thing! I smoke, too. I've tried everything. I had quit for about a year but then, as I like to say, life happened. My son was in a devasting car accident where he broke his neck. The recovery was long and hard. It was either smoke again or lose my mind. I know people who don't smoke CAN'T understand, so please,…

GREAT ADVICE! LISTEN UP!

Well, as for me, I have to say, when I had lost about 60 pounds a couple of years ago, I did it by running. I started off walking and as I built up my strength, I started jogging, then running. At the end when I stopped, I was running a mile in less than 11 minutes. For me, that felt awesome!!!! Nothing is more relaxing…

I agree. My hubby is sort of following my lead, too, but I increase his caloric intake.

Hey, check out that 100 items Dr. Oz wants in your grocery cart. It really helped me to make good choices and it made it easy to find the things I like to eat. It is a practical list, not one of those crazy lists that has things you never heard of. I'm from the deep south, way south, and I know how you feel.
-
Thanks! It is so much easier when you have a partner to motivate each other.
-
Well, I think it depends on how badly you are burnt. My hubby has the same problem, even when he puts on sunscreen, and the lines always go away, never to be seen again...that is until the next LSU game! LOL No worries. I think it will work itself out. If you could find Cover FX brand of makeup in the department store,…

OMG! You so cracked me up with the Paula Dean pic! Love it!

Well, the apple was as small as my tea cup Pomeranian's head. I think even 80 sounds high. I mean, I might have gotten 6 sections from it...Jetrees, I think you're right. I'm getting to worked up about this kinda stuff. I'm going with MFP's number. THANKS EVERYONE!
-
I'm definitely gonna try this! Thanks!
-
Thanks everyone! Very helpful. I'll go with the 30% carbs and 35% protein and see how I do. Again, thanks! :drinker:
-
But it gives me like 55% carbs! I'm one of those people who looks at carbs and I gain weight...It only gave me 15% protein...Maybe I'm micro-thinking this. Here is what it is for MFP numbers Nutritional goals Target Net Calories Consumed* / Day 1,200 Calories / Day Carbs / Day 165 g Fat / Day 40 g Protein / Day 45 g…

I am from Louisiana, the state where eating is more than a hobby, it is a way of life! I think I migh need to move! I work as a secretary at an elementary school and I love it.

My husband got out of bed one night and I found that he was taking awhile to come back to bed. So I got up to check on him and he was standing in the kitchen with a big bag of potato chips! I just shook my head and went back to bed. Well, the next day, he went to the pantry and asked, "Who ate that big bag of chips?! Geez!…

Aagh! When I went to ride the ferris wheel with my son and they couldn't connect the waist bar! Humiliating! Thankfully, that was MANY, MANY years ago but I have never forgotten that feeling.
