Thanks y'all. I drink Community brand coffee - especially made in Louisiana. I LOVE THE STUFF. I do try to get in a few bottles of water a day, too. I just gotta have my coffee! Straight up black! I'm going get some now. :drinker:

Well, it depends on your age, current weight, and activity level. My HRM has settings for Hard exercising, Moderate, Light & Basic. When I know I'm going to be working out full on, I usually set it to High. Today I tried the setting at moderate for Pilates and I was able to get my heart rate up to that level. After my…

Well, I can see why! You're very handsome. It feels good, doesn't it? I've always been told that I was sssooo pretty...if only I would lose weight. Now that I've lost about 40 pounds, those same people seem jealous and are always trying to sabotage me. "Hey, there are donuts in the conference room. Come get some." AAARRR…

Well, I HAVE noticed that if I do my Malibu Pilates workout AFTER I get back from the gym that my heart rate stays pretty high. I've just started to doing the next workout in the DVD series. I REALLY work up a sweat with that one. I would just like to keep concise records for my exercising...

Hi y'all! I'm still going strong! Hope all is well with everyone. Can't wait for the cool weather to come! Just got back from the gym. I did the treadmill, circuit and came home and hit the Pilates! I feel really good. I burned a total, according to my HRM, 680 calories today. I REALLY wish I could figure out how to wear…

Love it! Well said.:drinker: Our hearts are in the right place...if only our own minds wouldn't get in the way sometimes!

I'd like to join. I've joined other teams but did not seem to "fit in" quite right. Anyway, when I started this lifestyle change about two years ago, I was weighing in at 180. I started out with baby steps and now I weigh 143 pounds. I no longer look at food as a friend. It is mearly a tool to maintain my existance. Of…

I confess... My hubby and I had to travel 600 miles Thursday to pick up my son at the ER in Tennessee...We signed him out of college and so...here it comes...I ate bacon, eggs, hash browns, fried okra, Dairy Queen chicken tendes (with gravy, of course), fries, Cracker Barrel Chicken Fried Chicken, corn, biscuits, butter,…

Well, first of all, kudos to you for not letting asthma get in your way of wanting to lose weight. I think that is awesome. Second, in my opinion, and again, this is ONLY my opinion, from what I have read, heard, & seen, ANY exercise you add to your day is better than NO exercise at all. Since you've just started, you…

You know, I have had the book for several months. It's sitting on my shelf. I looked it over and found a lot of great information. Maybe I need to pull it out again and USE IT! Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks! I have to admit that cycling and, yeah, the treadmill, are my favorites. I find that running on a track (I can't really run in my neighborhood) just seems too...overwhelming. I don't run as long or as fast. Cycling - I love it! It's amazing how many calories you burn cycling! I was just wondering what everyone else…

Welcome, hun. I'm so pleased that you've decided on tackling this journey. Remember, you're not alone. And also remember, you have to do this for YOURSELF first...everything is, parden the pun, icing on the cake! Once you start to feel better about yourself, you're husband's eyes won't "roam" so much. Hey, I'm married,…

Thanks everyone. I know some of you know what I've been going through lately. It's been hard - a real slump. The war is not won yet but I'm still fighting the good fight. I have learned to trust in God and know that He has a plan for my son greater than anything I can imagine. I am sincerely trying to let go and let God. I…

ABSOLUTLY AWESOME!!!! You go girl! :drinker: :flowerforyou: I know what you mean about those kinds of "compliments". My sister (God rest her soul) once told my son, "Your momma thinks she's skinnier than she is. She needs to look in the mirror at herself. It's a joke." Of course, he asked me about it and repeated what…

Hey! It's been a really long time since I've seen you in the boards. How are you? :drinker: Still loving Lao Tzu! :flowerforyou:

LOUISIANA, HERE! Right near the boot area. We just came down from Tennessee a couple weeks ago and we would laugh everytime someone said it was SSSSOOOOO hot! To us, without the humidity, it felt like a cool front!
-
ME TOO! I'm such a sucker for the stuff! I live in Louisiana on the outskirts of New Orleans and I'm DYING to spend the night in one of the many documented haunted houses around here! I can't find anyone brave enough, though!

 I GIVE UP! What models of HRM's do y'all recommend (other than Polar, obviously)?
-
So, I just SCOURED the Polar website and did EVERYTHING it said and STILL NOTHING. I hate to have to get another kind and start getting use to it all over again!!!
-
I tried that and it didn't work. I tested my mic to make sure it is working and it is. The little yellow and blue line moves as though it is trying but then it says there was no answer. I've tried looking on the site to no avail. AAARRRGGG!
-
Thanks! I'll try that.

We have a couple of teachers who issue "free passes" to student exhibiting good behavior. The pass allows the student to not do one homework assignment, only if the student has a certain GPA when he/she wants to use the pass.
-
Hey! Guess what?! I pulled out an old Triax C6 watch I had (black) and tried it with the transmitter of the Polar...AND IT WORKED! Now I have two!
-
I agree with you about Paul. I know that we all need a kick in the pants now and then but he takes it to a whole nother level sometimes.
-
Thanks! I think I might try that.
-
It was really rough sending my son off to college, especially since the accident, but, everything seems to be leveling off.
-
WOW! Shanta! You look great! I told you you could do this! You've past me up now! I'm so proud of you. Keep up the good work.

I DVR it. I wish I could go on the show! I'd die! It motivates me and gives me great ideas, too. I'm surprised at some of the food he throws out, though. I wish I was in a position to go completely organic! That way, I'd have no questions about what goes into my body.
