Well, our school has initiated a behaviorial encentive program. It requires that student's who behave as expected (like the young adults they are), they receive points by their teacher. At the end of a pre-determined period, the students who receive the most points are rewarded with a "Bash!" We have pizza delivered,…

Thanks everyone. You have truly touched my spirit. :flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou:

OMG! Sounds like my school! I work at a high school in Louisiana. We have assistant principals that have been there for 9+ years and one thinks he is 'ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS!" He is very sexist and passes comments demeaning to women. Anyway, we do have a new principal that's been in place for about 2 years. He is…

I have the biggest confession of them all! I have NOT been watching what I eat AND I started smoking again! I KNOW! I KNOW! I have lost all sense. I CAN'T handle leaving my son here in Tennessee day after tomorrow! I've just given up. Everyone is telling me it will be all right but I don't see that right now. I'm so…

Okay. I have to admit that I, as a child, eaten fried baby rabbit and I LOVED IT! I still remember the taste. Its been a good 35 years since then, though. I also love fried frog legs. Love 'em! :blushing: :blushing:
-
Okay, Carl, are you from Louisiana????  There are some people down here who eat that....

OMG! You guys are sooo great! :smooched: :smooched:    Everything you're all telling me makes perfect sense, in my head, it is my  that doesn't want to calibrate! I guess that I am not as bad as I could be. At least I'm not buying an entire Edward's pie just for myself and eating it…

Okay. Today was my first day wearing my HRM all day doing my normal, everyday things. Work, home, dinner, housework, etc. Throughout the day, thanks to the reminder of my HRM, I took advantage of "spirts" of "mini" workouts throughout the day. Jumping jacks, running in place, etc. When I finally took the HRM off and…

Yeah. If you use the "Own Zone" setting, the unit reads your heart rate for a few minutes according to the settings you input like your age, weight, etc. Once it reads what your "zone" should be, while you're exercising, it beeps when you go either too low or too high. I LOVE my Polar F6. I got it on ebay. If you buy one,…

I know exactly what you mean. I was SO dedicated and never stopped since April while I was home taking care of my son after his accident. Morning til night, I didn't stop. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of letting ANYTHING unhealthy near my mouth. I went back to work and its been somewhat down hill since. I feel…

I confess that I've been "knowingly" slacking off these past weeks. The scale is telling on me...School is about to start and I'm always so tired when I'm coming down from summer vacation! YUCK!!!!

YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THIS! I MADE THIS AND MY HUBBY ACTUALLY SAID THAT IT WAS BETTER THAN MY USUAL...HE DIDN'T KNOW I USED THE CAULIFLOWER! HE THOUGHT I USED MORE BUTTER/BUTTERMILK. IT REALLY IS GREAT. Cauliflower mashed potatoes 1/2 large head cauliflower, broken into florets 1/2 cup nonfat buttermilk 1 pound Yukon Gold…

I confess that I really don't feel like being sociable tonight. Can I hide?

I confess that I plan on spending the rest of the day in bed watching movies. It is my last day of vacation for the summer and I plan on enjoying the day MY WAY! I confess that I DID get in my last 5 miles of cycling to meet my 50 mile comittment to the club! Yay me!:drinker:

Welcome! There is tons of knowledge and support here on MFP. I used to pay for WW and I SSSSOOOOO wish I had found MFP first! It's the best. I'm also in the cycling club that skywalker is in. It's true. It TOTALLY helps me not to slack off. I feel like someone is depending on me to live up to my word so it makes me work…

I have heard the same things about green tea. So, I bought the Tazo Green Ginger Tea. I usually drink the Tazo Organic Chai Black Tea. I love the Chai tea. I made my first tea bag of green tea about 15 minutes ago and am enjoying it right now! I love the flavor. I'll have to reserve my opinion on the fat loss after much…
Wellthat' not true! It woujld be better to be only 200 over than 1000 over. with 200 over you might be up able to maintain your weight 1000 over would be a lot more than that!! It's all about cal in cal burned.
See, that's what I always thought. Cal burned more than cals taken in is good, right? Okay,…

Honestly, the 3 pounds on the scale doesn't bother me THAT MUCH. :grumble: It's really when I look in the mirror (yes, buck neked - as my dad use to say) and with clothes, to me, I just look FAT. My clothes don't really fit that differently. I mean, a little snug but to me I see just a big belly. My hubby says I don't look…

Well, I can honestly admit that I'm one of those people that can't have just one. If I take a sip of soda, I gotta have more. It doesn't give me a belly ache but it DOES make me extremely bloated. I just as soon stay away from them. For me, they're addictive.

I'm not sure what your budget is but, you can get a brand new Garmin unit for about $59 on ebay. I buy and sell on ebay all the time.

Welcome back! Don't forget to use the GREAT resources here on MFP...US!  I know EXACTLY what you mean. I work at a high school and we have been out for the summer. I was doing really great until I went back for two weeks! Work gets in the way of living! :grumble: You'll do it. Good luck! Check back often to…

THANK YOU! I was JUST looking at the Garmin to buy online not 30 seconds ago! I have a Nike Triax C6 but I don't have the chest strap (don't ask me where it is...:grumble: ) Maybe I'll just buy a replacement chest strap. Again, thanks.

test on ticker...sorry OMG! It finally worked!

How do you add the tickerfactory ticker to your MFP profile?

OMG!!!! I was just saying this morning that I haven't seen any posts for cycling and then I see this!!! I just bought a bike yesterday. I did 10.5 miles tonight. I love it! So much better than walking, wogging, treadmill...:grumble: I want to join the team, please? What do I need to do? Commit to a certain amount of miles?…
-
Well, I listened to everyone's advice and decided to get "an old fashioned" comfort cruiser bike. Yep, that's right! I just got back with my brand new, new comfort cruiser bike! I tried doing another mile on the 21 speed this morning and it about killed me. I think I was in love with the idea of all the gears, the speed,…

Thanks for the advice. Luckily, I don't live in a "city setting" where there is a lot of traffic. I really live out in the burbs...Lots of places to ride in the neighborhood. I think I overdid it yesterday because when I got on it this a.m. my butt REALLY was sore! Riding makes me feel like a kid again.

Thanks for the kudos! I feel like I haven't deserved that in a while. Lots going on. My son is doing EXTREMELY well. Thank God! He is actually leaving for college on August 14th! I can't believe it. 3 months ago he was lying in a hospital bed on the verge of death or paralysis and now he's moving 600 miles away to college!…
