It sounds as though your breakup caused you to start eating to cope with stress/depression, and you've built on bad habits since then. This is common for a lot of people. You're right, it's hard to overcome, and it's all easier said than done. Just because the solution is simple doesn't mean it's easy. I found personally…

Sudden onset muscle spasms can often be caused by dehydration and/or lack of electrolytes. It can also just be general fatigue from overuse or overstretching. Make sure you are well hydrated. You may want to get a prescription for a muscle relaxant if it continues.

Yeah, many of us "omnis" are against factory farming. "Corpse-eating" is a hilarious term, definitely makes you sound like a sane and rational person to argue with civilly. You sure have a lot of hatred, gingerveg.

Do your own shopping and make your own meals, it's 2013, you don't need the permission of your boyfriend to do this. Your weight loss doesn't depend on help from other people. Sometimes you have to realize that you're up against the unhealthy eating habits of other people, and lose weight regardless. If you put them in…

Whose consensus is that? Your metabolism doesn't slow down because you're asleep. Your body's metabolism is a complex function of many factors, not limited to digestion.

Timing really doesn't matter at all, it's just a habit. Look at what they eat, and how much, that's a more accurate insight into why they aren't overweight

Don't drink an entire bottle of wine. Just like don't eat the entire package of Oreos. Unreasonable Statements Made By People Who Want You To Suffer

"Hey guys, what are your personal experiences with a vegan diet?" "Vegans are more uppity!" "No, non-vegans are more uppity!" Great thread, it's been fun
-
Yeah, because the people who actually live by a vegan diet have a "skewed" view on things. No more a messed up view than anyone who doesn't live by it. Like I said, if OP wants to know, they should just try it out themselves and not worry about anyone else. [/quote] "Skewed" isn't "messed up". "Skewed" means "biased". The…

The OP did ask if people hated the vegan diet. If you want a skewed opinion on whether or not to start a vegan diet, a vegan group is definitely the place to go
-
Michael Pollan is a perfectly reasonable person who takes a lot of the bias out of eating, I really like his viewpoints in the books of his I've read. Worth reading if you want to eat better and learn where food comes from, but aren't interested in being converted to someone else's food religion

People with serious heart problems are not representative of the whole population, so propagandizing that veganism is generally healthier than being an omnivore because it's helped heart disease patients is a skewed claim.
-
Yes, "mostly plant foods", that doesn't mean veganism or even vegetarianism.

I prefer to just walk into Mordor

I eat high quality meat from ethically raised animals (and I don't eat pork at all). There are better choices than veganism if you're concerned about your health.

I'd say 24, but only because it was the edgiest thing on TV at the time, and there have been enough really awesome dark shows since (Dexter, Breaking Bad for example) So I'm gonna go with Firefly and Arrested Development. I'm interested to see what they do with the new episodes

No, you're right, there are still cookies and pastries that taste gross that you can eat

This could be hilarious but instead you choose to be aggravated by it, that's your problem

The healthiest of all is a mobius chip. Comes right on out the other side
-
I do get kind of a distended belly after eating a lot of gluten and sugar. So I try to cut back, if I'm feeling gross. The thought of never eating another cookie or sandwich makes me feel worse than the silly idea of "wheat belly".

A wiggly square is a healthier shape than a triangle 99% of the time.

Your overall health isn't going to be any different if you choose Sun Chips over Doritos. They're both junk food. Damn Sun Chips taste great though

I could have accepted this as well intentioned poem written by somebody who is obviously devoted to their religion if they had the foresight to leave out the last 3 lines.

Also this thread seems to have some kind of protective force field. I bet it would have ended sooner if the topic were "who here hates grapefruit"
