  • This makes sense. I have been one to weight my food, prepare my own meals and track everything (even when I don't want too). I've only gone over my 173 the last few days. Yesterday I ate like 1800 so I went to the gym and worked off 500 calories. Maybe I should make an appointment for the nutritionist for a more personal…
  • The 1200 recommended calories was recommended for the entire class, I haven't visited with a nutritionist personally. I've been doing ok with the 1200 a day (lots of fresh fruit and veggies), but I don't want my body to go into starvation mode even though I'm eating adequately. I'm also just looking for advice, or anyone…
  • Seeing someone, but single and doubt plans will be made. However, I start my new job that day so I'm not too concerned. :)
  • SW: 297 (though MFP I think is 288) CW: 255 GW: 145
  • I'm in the same boat. Currently at 22 US (though I was a 24, took 30 lbs to have to switch sizes). I can't wait till I can shop in any store I please!! I will be so broke when that day comes lol Congrats on the change over!!
  • When I reach my goal weight I'm treating myself to a street bike! Save time/gas on my commute to CSUS and look good doing it!
  • Today was anger. Frustration at myself for letting me get to the point that I did and remembering that I am in control of what I am doing and letting someone else's actions make me feel less that whole. So hard rock and an hour and a half of cardio it was. Typically though it's that I can change what I look like, and that…
  • Remember tomorrow is always a new day. Losing weight is more than dieting, it's a change in eating habits. Don't get me wrong, I know how hard it is to eat healthy when eating out. I've had to remind friends that I'm trying to lose weight and to not take me somewhere that's going to tempt me. And like mnnolen said, I doubt…
  • Elk Grove and CSUS here :)
  • Looking good! Love the back tat!
  • This was why I finally invested in a HRM w/ fitness watch. I'd go to the gym and the cardio machine would say one thing and the app about double that. The MFP app almost doubles what is actually burned. After using my monitor I have found that the machines under estimate and the app way over estimates. Trust the monitor.
  • Hi Nikki! I know exactly where you are coming from. At my heaviest I was 297 a year and a half ago. Since then I've dropped 40 lbs but am still frustrated on a daily basis as I want results NOW. However, there are a couple of things I've found to help me out: 1.) My weight fluctuates daily. I am obsessed with my scale, BUT…
  • I've lost 40 lbs so far (297-257) and have JUST now gotten a new pair of pants. I had a hard time seeing the change until I looked at the original before pic I took at 285 lbs. I gain/lose everywhere though, so when I drop it's all over my body which is why I think it's harder for me to see the change.
  • I trust mine. And from the research I've done you'll burn more overall calories when at the higher end of your max heart rate BUT you burn a greater percentage of fat calories when at a lower intensity. I generally burn 615 calories an hour, I did 925 in 90 minutes the other day. I have a Polar FT60 with heart rate monitor…
  • I'm 27 and from California. I have currently lost 40 lbs but have almost another 100 I want to lose. I can't wait till I hit my goal! :D
  • There's an ice cream out there called Artic Zero that is only 150 calories per pint. I had the vanilla maple, it was super sweet but went great with fresh raspberries. See if you can find it!
