I'm 3 weeks post op. sleeves on 17th July. No regrets and wish I had had the courage to do it sooner. I've lost 11kg in 3 weeks. Including my pre op diet and az small weight loss earlier in the year I have lost in 6 months what it took me 18 months to go last time around and this time I know I can't put it back.

http://www.livescience.com/43956-walking-10000-steps-healthy.html same as 1200 cal ... one size does not fit all. I'm losing weight and I average 5-7k per day. pretty sure I'll need to amp it up as the weight comes off though.

look at the nutrition labels and decide for yourself. Look at the quantity of protein per 100g, the calories and everything else in it.

When I started 2 years ago I was 374 and couldn't walk to the end of my drive without pain, being out of breathe and breaking a sweat. I now workout 4-5 times a week doing various classes the gym and walk 5k everyday. If I had started trying to do everything I do now I would have fallen off the wagon within a month. But…

There are 1440 minutes in a day.... you only need 30 to make a workout count. This pretty much sounds like one of my weeks I have 4 kids and a full time job plus I'm studying. It's taken me 2 years to be able to get a workout and 5k a day in. If anything is added to my workload I get up earlier to get to the gym or workout…

I get this and while it's not normal it's apparently not uncommon - During exercise, histamines are released. Histamines are proteins involved in autoimmune responses like an allergic reaction to pollen or dust. People who are sensitive to histamines experience rashes, itching, and other allergic symptoms during exercise…

I hold on, I go at quite a fast walking pace and I'm very wobbly on my feet. Benefits of the treadmill are that it keeps a constant speed, and it's clear to me that's not how I walk. Dragging around a 300lb frame is a lot of effort, and the treadmill enables me to jog/walk for a long duration, whereas outside I cant manage…

I live in the uk too and get protein supplement powder through Amazon for £20 a tub. Don't buy from the supermarkets or Holland & Barrett they rip you off. I swear by it for recovery and find I'm sore and stiff if I don't have it.

If you are in pain that will send your heart rate up.

I started with a Weight Watchers Precision Electronic Doctors Scale cos it was the only one I could find that would actually weigh me when I started. The trouble with it though it that the "tap" to activate it was more of a stomp and the noise would wake the kids up in the room next door. Now I have a You Are What You Eat…

I got a fitbit one for xmas and its been attached to me ever since. It has helped me make sense of the ups and downs of my weight and pushed me to move more between workouts. It really highlighted where I could make improvements and my fitness levels have increased dramatically since. I wear a hrm for workouts and add the…

^ This :) I use both and cant live without either. The goals set by my fibit compliment my training and motivate me to be more active

You are young and making the right changes will mean you have less risk of getting all the other symptoms that in my experience gradually get worse over time. I don't think I had issues with hair until my late 20's. and insulin resistance certainly wasn't an issue until the last few years I was diagnosed 14 years ago, but…

So inspiring especially considering you have PCOS which makes losing weight an uphill struggle. Thank you for sharing - your story has kept me going <3 x

I got married 10 months after meeting my hubbie although I knew as soon as he moved in (after just 6 weeks) that he was the one for me, this year we celebrate 19 years together. Hasn't all been smooth sailing, there have been some years we have had to work through, but I wouldn't change any of it. I love him more now :)

I've been training for Tough Mudder since last year and am registered for August. Doubt I'll be running it. Good to know about the hill walking, I'm hill walking every weekend atm in preparation to climb Ben Nevis 3 weeks before.

I confess I haven't read the whole thread, but I did skim the link to check this hadn't been posted yet. Its a human study that shows a connection with cancer and aspartame http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/early/2012/10/23/ajcn.111.030833.abstract. From my own experience since quitting diet foods with sweeteners I haven't…

That's like saying follow a sugar free diet, but chocolate doesn't count. If you are following a calorie controlled diet, every calorie counts doesn't matter where it comes from. I'm studying nutrition and I have never read not to count oils (maybe I haven't got to that bit yet)
