I cut out grains a few months ago and feel great. So many IBS and blood sugar symptoms are gone, and I had never previously had any reason to think I had issues with them. Gave my gut a chance to heal and now I feel and look better. I don't worry about counting carbs but they've obviously dropped. This isn't a diet for me,…

Interesting study and results. Alas, I have to able to do x number of sit ups in x amount of time so I have to them regardless.

Just outran my first zombs!

Sheesh. Some great responses but a few clarifications. 1. The video was about ADDED sugar in the diet, not fruit and such. 2. I wanted to know if segments such as this have an impact on choices people make or not. Did you learn anything new, would you change behavior, did it just reinforce what you already do, do you…

You actually get some fiber, vitamins, and a feeling of fullness from the apple though. Glad you like the video NewLifeStyle

The sugar they were concerned with in this particular segment was added sugar, not sugars naturally occuring in real food. Like I said in the original post, I don't count my fruit or anything like that against my sugar count.

Here is the full segment without commercials from 60 Minutes website http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_162-57407294/is-sugar-toxic/?tag=contentMain;cbsCarousel

It was on last night but we missed it so I watched it this morning on the 60 minutes site.

No takers? For me the segment reinforced/ remotivated me to continue what I'm doing.

It is pretty shocking. Many of the low fat options have higher sugar or salt. Low sugar has higher salt, etc. And the ingredients you'd never recognize! I've cut out almost all "processed" foods. If I don't know what the ingredients are I don't eat it. Actually makes shopping much easier: I hit produce, meat, dairy, and…

NY Times was the one I was referring to. Like I said, it's not for every personality/attitude but many love it.

I've found on the days I'm really low I tend to get cramps in my feet and crave pickels and olives even though I'm not usually a salty craver. Thanks for the info on the potassium ratio, I'll start looking at that. I've had a hard time getting my potassium up to help with cramps as well.

I'm better hydrated in the evening than first thing in the morning but I get an energy boost after for a few hours. I don't thinki I would do well RIGHT before bed, I'm usually about 4-5 hours before and that seems just right for me.

Yoplait is known to add a lot of sugar. Check some of the other brands or even better get plain and add your own fruit. Tastes better and you're getting more fruit servings, works well with fresh, frozen, or canned. Different berries are my favorite, they are naturally lower in sugar then some other fruit too. I don't…

The chafe is uncomfortable for sure. I don't have an issue with running (probably because I don;' do it for long enough). Funny story, when we did a large weekend hike in the Grand Canyon we crossed the water back and forth all day in shorts and many miles resulting in bad chafe. I thought I'd help it out by putting some…

Breaking PRs or doing something new The results of course The energy boost Looking good neked

This is my favorite dinner right now! I make a tomato sauce loaded with zucchini, mushrooms, onions, garlic, spinach, and some ground spiced wild hog. Yummy

Learning pose running has been a huge help to me. I'm dropping time and fewer injuries. Just google pose running and a ton of info and videos will pop up. The videos that break it down and give you drills are helpful.

this, lol I like variety, beef, pork, seafood, chicken, EGGS. I was limited to seafood and chicken for several years and it got really old.

Haven't tried that flavor but I love the Apple Pie. Just tried coconut something and cashew cookie, prob won't buy either again. Great to grab when I don't have something easy ready,

I'm really working on eating more calories as well, mostly to put on muscle. it is a struggle some days, when I have tracked calories before I always come in under even though I feel like I eat a lot of food! I'm wondering if part of it is eating really nutrient dense food having fewer calories than junk. Like a whole head…

A lot of great answers here but I can't resist: Such small weight fluctuations don't matter, a good poop could change your weight by that much or more. Keep up the exercise and don't pay so much attention to the scale. Use how you feel and how your clothes fit as a better indicator.

Love seeing these, been looking for more ideas. I like to do to weekly or bi-weekly small measurable goals. I've gotten quite a few paperbacks, bought some athletic clothes. Would love a new pair of Lucky jeans. I try not to do food rewards, we aren't dogs.

i found this to actually be a really pretty good and reasonably fair article. The only part I would really disagree with is this "The emphasis is on speed and weight hoisted, not technique." I can only speak to my gym and trainer but we spend a great deal on technique, form, and biomechanics to limit injury and enhance…

I completely get what you are saying and where you are coming from. I guess I just want to do these things just for their own sake and the fun of it, not a need to do them. And man do they gas me out like nothing else, works every stinking part of my body and really screws with my neuromuscular coordination. I see this as…

I have seen the photos, and you are right, they are super gnarly. Box jumps are my major weakness right now and I'm still working off a tire, a big part of it is in your head, getting past that fear, I know i'll be immensely satisfied with myself when I can do them well. I guess I just see it as a risk like anything else.…

All that crazy stuff is what looks like so much fun to me! I keep working to get to that level. Funny how everyone is different.

i've gone furry pits for times in the past, mostly in the winter. I work summers in a bathing suit so it wasn't really a good option at work, proud or not. It's just a little patch, gets so soft, need less deodorant, and no razor bump! My hubby actually kinda dug it, some guys are surprised that they like it.

While I don't have knee problems per se but I feel you on the goofy looking running. I always looked weird and HATED to run, it was just painful everywhere! Turns out I was just never taught the proper form. I have made huge gains in the past several months by changing my form to pose style, I'm still a work in progress…
