  • Edit. I actually use 5,000 D3, not 1,000.
  • I have this on my fridge, love it. It's a rock...
  • This is why I love CF
  • I do fish oil... because every bit of research from at least the last 10 years tells me I should. I didn't really notice any changes until I ran out for a few weeks... then I could "feel" my joints more. Stronger, Faster, Healthier, (SFH) liquid tangerine, 1 tsp or 2.7g/day Whey protein powder... because I just can't get…
  • I use it a decent amount. It does have really high sodium though so I try not to make it a regular thing.

  • I just read an article about why IF may not be as great for women as it is for men. Let me see if I can find it.... Worth considering.
  • Dark chocolate all the way. I eat a square of Ghiradelli 86% almost everyday. I never feel bad about it because I'm getting iron, very little sugar, and all the other benefits of dark chocolate, including mental health.
  • I know many people who follow it and I don't know anyone who does this. Of course, they are athletes... Even the 30 day protocol in The Paleo Solution book included fruit and nuts. That's the one I followed for the 30 day challenge. People either believe it's a sustainable lifestlye or not. People either believe the…
  • When people talk about reducing fruit they are concerned about the fructose. For healthy or athletic people it's not an issue, can be reduced for a short time for people really trying to drop the pounds. In a diet with no added sugars I don't worry about fructose at all. Hmmm, for paleo info I would recommend Robb Wolf and…
  • I think you are confusing CARBS with the imflammatory issues of GRAINS. Carbs are not your enemy, do a little more research on WHY grains are an issue and you'll see that it has nothing to do with them being a carb, but the actual biochemical properties of grains and legumes. Inflammation is the underlying issue with…
  • I've wondered about this as well. I'm doing it with my mum and in-law so I am sticking with the program for them, I'll be leaving soon and want them to continue on. We're doing 2 days a week. When I continue on my own later I'll prob do 3 days a week to catch back up. I've also thought about combining the 2 into one…
  • You'll want to view it more as a lifestyle. My brother has been doing it for years and he encouraged me to give it a try. I won't get into the theories or rationale behind it, that's already been hashed out elsewhere and there are many resources on the web for people to do their own research. I went completely strict for…
  • Yes, more protein and fat. Shoot for .35-.75 grams total fat per pound of body weight. And do you realize almost half of your total calories in the few days I looked at came from alcohol? I'm not saying you have to quit drinking, but your nutrition is suffering if you don't eat more real food. Alcohol already impedes your…
  • You can add me as well. Not sure what you mean by getting haters? I've seen some negativity in general from people who don't know all that much about it, but I've never had anyone directly give me a hard time about it...
  • I did add oats to my smoothie the other morning and that got the numbers up. I'm trying to limit my grains though...

  • I noticed you also don't eat much for breakfast. If I don't get close to 500 calories at breakfast I never seem to make my goals for the day. Could you try a second breakfast? Or just some more calories dense easy breakfast foods? I should buy stock in Larabars, they are my other calorie/snack go to.
  • I've had this trouble as well, everything is so filling and satiating. Coconut oil (strawberries dipped in, yum) and nuts have been my big go to get in extra calories. And EGGS, if you can find someone that has yard chickens and get eggs from they are the perfect little protein and calorie package. I dump salsa on top and…
  • I've has luck with the Subway salads, you can get any sammy as a salad (with spinach) and oil and vinegar as a dressing. I'm jealous of your In and Out
  • For the country as a whole
  • I mix cocnut water in with my water and drink before and during the WOD. If I don't I get leg and feet cramps. I'm doing paleo with the addition of some dairy, so primal. I do a protein shake (SFH natural with cocoa powder in water) and some kind of fruit inthe car home because it will be over an hour before I get to make…
  • Great to see these longitudinal studies but they rarely give as much info as I'd like to see. What type of fats were they consuming? What did low carb mean... elimination or reduction of fruits and veggies? What was the cholesterol breakdown? Did the higher cholesterol actually correlate to cardiovascular issues?
  • A little warning playing with the calculator, the extreme fat loss option puts you below BMR.
  • On the phone app there is a graph you can see your weekly total and average and how close you are to goal each day, I can see it kind of working by using that.
  • I was just about to say this! You beat me to it. Hot water will just increase the inflammmation, cool or cold is the way to go. And HYDRATE!
  • I still get nervous many days. I saw this once and like it "Does your workout scare you? It should." Pushes me outside my comfort zone which I need and love.
  • I use beyondthewhiteboard.com to log everything. It's great because you can quickly go back and look up something easier than flipping through pages. It also has a way to track sleep, diet, water, weigh ins, etc., etc. And graphs galore, I love graphs. Many of the WODS are pre-programmed in, or you can create your own from…
  • Saw this on my friends feed. Was really great to see that info. I had been considering IF... now, not so much. For low BF% issues, I'd just like the infertility please :)
  • Right? I love her site. Def want to try it again. My hubby and I were making it together and using a whisk instead of a processor... so, yeah, didn't work so great. It was still fine for mixing in things though.
  • I would personaly up the weight and drop the reps. Even doing 12-15 reps of something seems like a lot to me, I get bored :) I like the above posters method, I'll have to try that sometime, looks like fun. Edit to add: You may also look into using free weights rather than the machines to activiate more muscles with your…
