Thankyou. I hadn’t seen your reply earlier. It’s unique as it’s an exercise I actually enjoy! It’s funny that it’s being used in schools now as I remember it from the early eighties!

Did you find the answer?

I am doing ok on this so far. Only on fourth day, but felling ok. Not getting cravings or feeling hungry. Just hope the scales show a loss on Monday. We are in France for a couple of days, dieting seems easier here as the fresh fish and vegetables are so much nicer!

I occasionally have an attack, but it's very rare these days. After taking 5 months to lose 9lb, I need to try something different. Hubby is doing keto as his cousin has lost a lot of weight following it. Eating the same as my husband will make life easier. We know this isn't a forever diet, but intend sticking to low carb…

Hi ebony, my weight hasn't been updated. It was 178lb on wed! x

This is a great idea!

My GP has said I messed up my metabolism by years of yoyo dieting!
-
I'm going to buy a small Easter egg and include it in my calories. We aren't going to the inlaws for dinner this year, so I can have total control of what I'm eating. I'm going to try and get my cross trainer time up from 10 minutes to 15 minutes, and aim for daily instead of it being sporadic! Fingers crossed! (But if I…

Are HRMs only to work out calories burned during workouts? I am confused as to whether an HRM or a fitbit type device is what I need, Are there alternatives to the fitbit? I would like to know whether the calories I use are the same as MFP allows! Whether cleaning and walking cals are accurate as I don't want to eat cals I…
-
Me too! I tend to eat very few of the MFP exercise cals as I don't trust them. I know the fitbit is supposed to be good, but its more of a step counter than an HRM. I fancy an HRM! Will be keeping an eye on this topic :-)

I have 2 flights of stairs n my house so it might encourage me to go up and down them more often. Are there other devices which do the same job?

13/3 - 180lb 20/3 - 181lb Gain of 1lb. I am pretty gutted as I never went above my maintenance calories! I won't ever be able to eat my maintenance as I will put on weight if I eat all those calories! :-(

I was in hospital for gallbladder surgery 2 weeks ago. The lady in the bed next to me had had a gastric band fitted on the NHS, but wasnt happy with it. She then went to a private clinic and had gastric bypass. She had loads of loose skin, but that wasnt the worst thing. She was anorexic! She was so frightened of gaining…

I love most vegetables, but okra is slimy and nasty!

2 bad days in 5 isn't a great start! I need to start exercising again, but have found I probably did too much yesterday (just general cleaning and cooking) and hurt last night and this am (had emergency gallbladder surgery 16 days ago) My husband has flu and can't be bothered walking with me round town and I don't usually…

36lb and my rings fall off!
-
But if you aren't logging what you actually ate, how will that help you when you look back? Just a thought!
-
I'd probably go back and adjust it! Keep an eye on your weekly average. As long as it evens out, it should be ok. As I'm regularly told, you have to eat all of your basic cals and some of your exercise ones!

We use green grocer and butcher for most stuff and supermarket for staples. These are what we include Swede Carrots Potatoes Apples Oranges Bananas Cauliflower Cabbage Onions Mushrooms Chicken breast Sausages Diced beef Bacon Eggs Milk Hovis 400g wheatgerm bread (only 56 kcals per slice!) Butter Kerry low low cheese…

7lb is great! Give yourself credit for that. Calorie counting isn't a quick fix solution, its about learning about your food choices and what you learn sticks with you long term. I was 40 in January and am looking forward to a new, healthier me for 2013!
-
Calorie counting is the best way to lose weight. I've lost 36lb over last 7 months, average of 5lb per month. I put 5lb on over Christmas and new year, but because I went back to calorie counting, it soon came back off. I am not losing weight quickly, but slowly is the best way to do it. Increase your exercise, even if…

I'm UK and already your friend! I've lost 36lb and still want to lose another 20lb. This will still leave me in the overweight section, but I'm realistic!

Today we are visiting the inlaws and I am hoping to get in a walk along the camel river!
-
Although I'd planned venison sausages, mashed potato, swede and carrots for dinner, I didn't plan anything for the rest of the day. I have eaten loads of ket today :-(
-
Take a packed lunch if its a regular thing. It'll save money (which is useful in buying all those smaller clothes we need along the way!) and you know what's in your food. It does take a bit of effort to get into the routine, but it doesn't take long! Good luck K
-
With MFP, nothing is off limits. If you want a piece of cake, have it. I'd suggest still logging your food, but set your calories to maintenance! Even if you go over, so what? It's a special occasion! K

I'm a SW UK, who needs some support! Can't fall off the wagon now!
