Keep with the program! The program works, trust in the program! Haha! I did the same as you! Literally - I ran for 13 minutes straight when I got stuck in the rain. It was tempting to jump ahead, but I just kept on with the program, confident that I could finish it! I did struggle a little later on and so I'm glad I did…

I don't think it's bad to be over on Fiber unless it's giving you the trots. I'm ALWAYS over on fiber and feel fine. For the sugar, if you are really worried about it, I would break it down and really only track process sugar. You'll have to do this manually as MFP won't do it for you. But you could just count up your…

If you could get up 5 or 10 minutes earlier, I think a half a banana (not super heavy) or a tbs of peanut butter might help.

This is FANTASTIC! I love how fast you're cruising along! Great job, girl!

I like the runkeeper app. You can set the intervals you want, and set it to tell you time, distance, pace whatever. It plays over your own music.

Friday is a rest day, Sat is c25k, Sun is a power walk and Mon is strength training. This is what I would do. Forget about the power-walk. You'll do a TON of walking in Vegas and so it will be fine to skip. Monday, I'm going to assume you'll be home in time to strength train. That only leaves 1 day of c25k you have to fit…

I've not graduated yet, but I'm almost there (I'm on week 7). I'm planning on taking a month or so to work on speed and then me and my BFF are going to move on to b210k. We're going to try to find a 10k to sign up for as motivation. Good luck!

The first time I felt like a "runner" was while running in the rain. Go for it! Just be careful of wet socks. That equals blisters!
-
Yay! You are doing great! Just a few more runs and you'll be at 30 minutes no time!
-
Are you doing a cool-down? Walking for 5 or so minutes after your run? I find that helps quite a bit. Also, drink LOTS of water!

I just started using Runkeeper for my last two runs. I really like it. I put on my music with the regular music app, then turn on Runkeeper and it talks over my music. Plus, I can customize the intervals and then check to see how my speed was throughout the run. Very nice!

I DID IT! Got up at 5am this morning, put on some Britney, and went to it! 22 minutes non-stop running! I felt great at the end, too. Tired, but not like I was going to die. My hubby gave me some tips to help my breathing, but I think morning runs are just more my speed. I like running on an empty stomach, and the temps…

Thanks, Liz! It's nice to have this support group! And I wouldn't have done it without you! *smooch*

Thanks, Andrea! That's what I was leaning towards. So, I think that I will move on to day 3. And congrats to you for finishing the program! Very exciting!

Thanks for chiming in, Toaster! Yes, this IS a program that we're all following at different points. If you google c25k you will find the training plan on coolrunning.com. It is very comprehensive and there are a lot of podcasts that are free to help you with your program.

Quoted for truthiness. The thing you have to ask yourself is "why vegan?" Is it for ethical reasons? Health and dietary reasons? To be trendy? Why vegan? Once you internalize the why's of it all, it becomes super simple. If you believe in what you're doing, you will succeed easily. I recommend the book "The 30 day Vegan…

Love this! You're a runner now!

I was just coming to post something like this! I mean... I got through it. But I thought it would be such a breeze and I really struggled on my 8 minute run. The second 5 minute was just okay. Last interval on Sunday and then it's on to long runs. I absolutely love this program and am so glad I'm doing it!

Yes! this! Great, VoV!

Honestly, you probably DID NOT have a protein deficiency. It is very, very rare for people in developed countries to have a protein deficiency. If you eat at all, you pretty much can't become deficient. Even broccoli and rice has some protein. I am vegan, don't particularly watch my protein intake, and average 40 grams a…

I just bought a pair of Lightweight New Balance 630s. I plan to transition to the New Balance minimus 10 after my race in August. I love the 630's. Light, breathable mesh. Very nice.

I felt like that last night after my first 20 minute run. I was just feeling high for the next few hours. It's kind of awesome!

If a couple can't have a mature conversation about finances, engagement and marriage (you know, spending the rest of your LIFE together), than I don't feel bad if their engagement falls through. Harsh? Probably.
-
Yes, this. One thing I've seen over and over again with regards to c25k is to SLOW DOWN and worry about speed later. I'm running anywhere from a 10-12 minute mile when I do my longer runs. And that's OK. I'd like to eventually be able to average 10 minutes and maybe get lower from there. But if that happens after the 9…

Great! Make sure you are doing an adequate cool down (5 minutes minimum) and are drinking a lot of water. That will help with soreness. You will me amazed at how much your endurance goes up these next few weeks. AMAZED! Keep it up!
-
Awww, yeah! I just kicked day 3's *kitten*!! Bought some new, lightweight running shoes and had my best pace yet. So glad I ditched the trail runners!! I feel fantastic! Can't wait to get out there again and run some more!
-
Forgot to add -- I did w5d2 this morning. It was pretty good. I had a good podcast so that helped. I started to falter in the middle of the second 8 minute run, but picked my feet up and kept going. Day 3 on Thursday!

Welcome! Join us in the Happy Herbivores group!

YAY! You get a big gold star!

YES! You are awesome! That is so great! I can't wait until I get there! w5d3 on Thursday! I can't wait until week 7 and the longer runs!
